My preference is for the fighter to be himself. For example, AJ plays the humble guy/silent killer, but it's clearly forced and an act but someone like Errol Spence is similar, but it comes off as much more natural.

I agree, contrived trash talk when there is no animosity is a put off.

But you can't not like this

    Depends on the scenario

I typically prefer the silent killer.. but Fury in the lead up to Wlad and then backing it up was entertaining and I loved it

But then someone like Broner running his mouth and winning just annoys me

I like silent killers and trash talkers but I don't care for over the top loud mouths like Wilder and Fury, they just talk shite.

It would be great if after one of those phony tough trash talkers got through at a press conference the other boxer broke down crying. Then he #metoo's the trash talker on twitter for bullying him.

Broner is great value, the problem is that he thinks he's on the level of Floyd Mayweather which is delusional and then you have the entitlement attitude and the stupid stunts he's pulls outside of the ring which lands him in trouble with the law.

I like a mix - that's one reason why boxing is so great. We've got the silent assassins like GGG and we've got loudmouths like Fury and Wilder (although Fury is funny, Wilder is just idiotic).

Compare the mix in boxing with dull dull dull interviews you get in football where everything is so predictably booooring.

Those i like best are the unpredictable ones like Chisora. Noone knows what he's going to say next - certainly he doesn't.

Trash talkers are much more interesting. They also can sell fights.

You have to admit though, Wilder won the battles against Tyson Fury and Tony Bellew when they met and
    exchanged words.

And Chisora is not really a trash talker, he is just insane and unpredictable with his actions but i like him too.

Chisora is great. Dillian Whyte isn't too bad when it comes to trash talking either but he does come across as idiotic.

I can't stand football press conferences and post match interviews where players and managers are media trained to talk like working class politicians. This is one reason why I savor the unadulterated anti pc trash talking in boxing.

Wilder is a great trash talker and has great one liners.

    ''King's don't chase peasants''

    ''I will baptise you''

The baptizing comment is a classic and he made Bellew look like a complete idiot, Wilder was calm and Bellew
tried to play the tough guy mentioning over and over again that he beat David Haye but i genuinely had the feeling that Bellew was a little bit scared of him.
