Sorry, I posted some of this in the General forum but it seems valid to post on here to.. I'm eager for this fight with Wilder to happen for a few reasons and mainly because I want to know who Tyson Fury really is. Is he the generally underrated guy that we saw climb off the floor pre Klitschko against Cunningham and Pajkic or the almost 'mythical' and vastly overrated guy whose got better daily via inactivity post Klitschko? Watching social media, He's certainly getting the weight off and looking very sharp, fluent and mobile on the pads and in some very edited sparring clips. However he looked like this prior to the Klitschko fight then on the night threw barely 15 punches per round, leant all of his 6'9 backwards out of range and pawed with the jab against a unbelievably docile, non engaging champion. I want to see a prime opponent 'put it on him' and make him fight and I believe Wilder will at least do this. As certainly will AJ and even a hungry Dillon Whyte type. Fury was on talksport in the U.K. only last night claiming to be the greatest heavyweight of all time. Wether he truly believes this himself I don't know but his resume fails miserably in supporting it. With a single 'dire' world title fight, 2 cancelled rematches, stripped of his titles and a PED suspension on his record, he actually has more to prove than Wilder. Hopefully it'll be all business against Pianeta next weekend.
Deontay address rumor's for Fury fight with his promoter PBC. Click must read if doesn't work. http://www.premierboxingchampions.com/news/deontay-wilder-addresses-tyson-fury-fight-rumors-pbc-jabs This content is protected
I dont understand how he seems in great shape in the gym but did i read this correct? he's only 4lbs lighter than last time. That's sod all for a guy of his size. Im looking for Fury to use the jab take the contest seriously and box the guy and then stop him after 4-5 rounds. If he takes on Wilder next and beats him...well the AJ fight would be something to look forward to
Credit where's its due, Ben Davidson and Christian Blacklock have done a great job getting Fury's weight off. Only 12lbs heavier today than for the Klitschko fight. If it's Wilder in December, I can see him being a pro career lightest
He does yeah. I don’t think anyone can criticise Ben for his conditioning, he’s done fantastic. Is he the man you want in your corner though when you’re fighting one of the most dangerous men on the planet?
He's helped get Tyson's weight off.. Seems his head is in the right place as well, but theres only one man, Peter Fury that Tyson should have training him.
Could not agree more Peter Fury would tell it like it is to Tyson, where as with Davison it remains to be seen
I have seen a few people now on YouTube saying Peter and Hennesey took more money than they should of from the Klitschko fight, that's one of the reasons for the fall out . Not sure how true that is, but I have seen an interview where Tyson does say something about family members robbing him but didn't go into much further detail, so who knows ?
Why should Peter train him? He couldn’t keep the reigns on Tyson and keep him on the straight and narrow and didn’t quite seem to grasp or appreciate the magnitude of his mental illness (seen him talk about it and admit to his lack of knowledge on it). He’s old school. Fury has lost 9 stone...the motivation needed to do that is just incredible. The influence Davison has is clearly huge and he knows how to get the best out of him.
