Can we talk more about how great May did against an out of shape Whitaker who was sparring teenagers at a boxing camp?

Care to expand on that? Genuinely interested as to why someone would believe that. (Assuming you aren't just a Mayweather hater)

    The hatred is real.

I'd have to go with Mayweather by decision. Guy just finds a way to always get the job done. He did it x49.5.

If there's someone in boxing history who I'd personally never bet against, it's Floyd Mayweather

His reflexes were next level, he had spiteful power when he had to rely on it.

His movement and counter punching is arguably the best of all time.

Even way past his best and come addled he arguably performed better against Oscar than prime Floyd did.

His performance against Chavez is one of the best filmed fistic displays in recorded history.

The way he tried walking Tito down speaks volumes about his heart and mentality.

Both great fighters but pea is top 3 ATG imo.

    That's more than fair.

I would personally argue that literally all of those points could also be argued in favour of Floyd if you wanted to turn them around, which is what's interesting about it. This would have been a really intriguing fight.

    Floyd is my winner though.

I think the thing about it is with the onus on someone to take control of the fight by pushing the other, we both probably agree its gonna be Whitaker to do it in this one.

I just feel that plays into Floyd's hands, Whitaker has more in his locker in terms of all round skill, but Floyd defensively, beats Sweet Pea offensively.

Is Floyd's timing enough to beat Pea's? I don't know. Pea was a natural athlete and I just see him edging a decision based on landing cleaner shots each round.

Absolutely, I thought Floyd had very good timing.

Again though that works both ways, Floyd Mayweather is possibly even underrated as an athlete, people don't realise how great a shape the guy still even stays in today because it just seems to them he's just on social media boasting about his money all the time. He's dedicated (to boasting and training).

Each to their own though, you gave good reasons. I just see it differently
