Ward vs. Usyk: This Will Be Fun To Watch If True

Usyk is a big, fast, prime CW. That's a big challenge for anybody, much less a guy who is well past his prime and fought at 168. But Andre is the type to look for challenges, so I could possibly see the fight happening.

Until I see Andre at CW, I'll take Usyk by decision. It will take a tremendous increase in power for Andre to be able to grind Usyk down. Ward wasn't a huge hitter at the lighter weights, so I don't think he'd be a huge hitter at CW.

 

whatever your score for Kovalev vs ward. to me it was 114-113 either way. Kovalev faded so badly, Uysk wont fade Uysk is bigger more crafty and wont fade. As for Ward at 175. I don't think he'd beat Half the champs. even if you think beterbiev sucks or whatever, I think in the matchup Ward would get his **** pushed in.

 

I’m a big Ward fan, but Ward is too small for Usyk.

 

Ward will probably wait for usyk to move up then return and pick up an easy vacatant belt and ward fans will lose there mind saying he’s the greatest cruiserweight of all time.

 

Don't hold your breath unless you want to asphyxiate. Ward is never stepping in the ring again.

Ward is comfortably retired. The only way this fight happens is if they see something that they can take advantage of. Some habit. Some flaw.
They aren't going in there winging it.
Ward and his team know alot more about it than I do. If they take the fight, they think they can win. If they think they can win, so do I. Ward UD Usyk.

Don't see it happening since Usyk at the moment brings no money to the table, but if that changes Ward would definitely fight him. Usyk is a talented fighter, but he unified one of the weakest divisions in boxing. Beterbiev, Stevenson, Bellew, and Kovalev would clean out Usyk's resume. Michael Hunter is a complete novice and was inactive, but was more competitive than the overrated Gassiev. Ward would've toyed with a guy like Hunter.

 

No way Ward comes back and fights Usyk, I repeat no way.

 

Dude is retired and comfortable, he's not coming back.

It wouldn't have ever been particularly competitive, but that's not Andre's fault. No 175 pounder is winning rounds off Usyk.

I actually called this. It is a very logical fight. Ward talked about moving up to heavy, but there is not obvious Johnny Ruiz up there right now to abjectly surrender a belt, so Usyk would be a good measuring stick. As for Usyk, ATG name on the resume.

Plus Usyk's style is all wrong for Ward. Ward would never take this fight, he would be stupid otherwise.
