He needs at least 2 more fights and against much higher level opponents than the likes of Pianeta and even then he still ain't going to be the Fury of old. A shot to bits Kevin Johnson stopped Pianeta for goodness sake and Johnson ain't no puncher.
How anybody can even begin to try and justify that or try to say Fury is or will be fine by Nov/Dec? We have to lose this AJ, Hearn, Fury, FW, Wilder, Finkel rivalry and just be honest about what we just saw. It was poor, nobody can justify a world title fight against anybody after Seferi and that.
Remember when this forum said that Whyte has no power and is finished after Helenius. Yeah, that's what will happen once again.
Im starting to understand why Fury didn't go and fight Bellew, Whyte and Joshua for a potential warehouse full of money. I honestly don't believe he would have got past Bellew after watching him tonight.
I don't think he looked that bad, clearly not as good as he once was but to expect him to ever be 100% is wishful thinking. He looked considerably better than he did vs Seferi and even Fury at his best tended to win ugly, he was never the prettiest boxer in the ring, he has an god awful ugly style but it's effective. I hope we'll see another jump up in quality by the time he hopefully fights Wilder. Wilder as to be the favourite given the circumstances and the way Fury as looked so far. It's one thing slipping shots from Pianeta, much different proposition doing that vs a much bigger, faster, better Wilder.
Let's see, Pianeta who was stopped in 7 by 38 y/o Kevin Johnson didn't look in any trouble. Maybe it's all a ruse to make Wilder think Fury is a bum. Clever.
Fury needs another year and to fight 2 or 3 top ten heavyweights first. But we know old Frank wants an early cash out so he’ll be fed to Wilder for an easy lunch.
I give Fury points for overcoming his addictions, self neglect and getting this far.... but Wilder, no matter how much a fraud you might think he is, is the reckoning of a nightmare for Fury. Wilder would have knocked Pianeta out in a 90 seconds. Forget the gym. Daily Mass and some Gypsy magic better be afoot.
Has anyone ever been up on the cards against Wilder before a stoppage? Ortiz and Szpilka were both outboxing him but were well down. Fury would need a KO.
I don't understand why tyson would risk his 0 and legacy by rushing into a fight with wilder wayyy too soon. Surely beating wilder in a years time will mean more to him than earning a few extra quid by getting knocked out in a few months...what's the rush
