Mate here's the thing if you'll indulge me in a long post.

I'm actually a fan of Fury, and I have been since day one. Used to stream his scraps with the likes of Ding Ding Belshaw on my work computer when doing nights.

90% of posters thought Fury was a complete joke and I was one of very few who was defending him. When he beat Klitschko it was like an indie band suddenly blowing up and being on radio one every 15 minutes.

I appreciate Fury AND AJ. They are different fighters and different people but I respect Joshua's dedication and professionalism. He's nowhere near as gifted as fury but ****ing hell is he a hard worker.

See im not interested in being contrary and not "looking like a casual". Joshua deserves respect its that simple.

Where Tyson has bitterly dissapointed me is #1 failing a drugs test and swearing "the truth would come out" (still waiting on that one) letting himself go while banned, and now going back on his word that he was taking his comeback seriously and incrementally.

Of course I'd ****ing love it if Fury made wilder look like a bum, grabbed that belt off him and we had the first ever 4 belt unification between two brits on a summers night at the National stadium. That'd be insane.

But it's not going to happen.

Fury is 10x the boxer wilder is when he's at 100% but wilder is getting him at the perfect time when he's not 100% and won't be for a while.

Wilder needs to land one right hand. One.

And against a fury with diminished reflexes and footspeed he will.

    It's a shame.

Good post, mate. You may be right, who knows. I’m glad it’s happening though.

Thinking about it I think this is a stupid move! Frank should be advising Fury against fighting Wilder like a few have said it seems it's more of getting one up on Eddie Hearn by taking this fight.

Fury showed improvements from His last fight as you would expect and in truth a good opponent for your second fight back got the rounds in could do basically what he wants with his opponent.

He needs to step it up again with a solid top 20 fighter in his next fight then again go for another step up after that et c etc.

But fighting Wilder next is very very stupid imo. He is only 30 years of age yes he could come again if he loses but why take the risk at this stage the original plan has gone out of the window him and Frank said they will be having four fights gradually getting him back into top fighting shape.

Wilder will knock him out he is nowhere near ready for that sort of challenge.

Look at Wilder’s resume’, has he fought anyone in the same league as Fury? Would even last nights version of Fury lose against any of those guys? I would strongly say no to both.

This is boxing, you don’t just walk in on a fighter and land your sweet shot. You have to set it up or you’ll get hurt. This idea that Fury’s shots are powder puff is a myth. Let’s not forget, Wilder let’s his hands hang low too, and he leaves himself wide open at times. He’s got to try and throw that shot against someone who moves on the back foot, throws feints, switches stances constantly...he really must be an absolute pain in the backside to fight.

The league Fury was fighting at last night yes plentry of fighters. I don't understand what some people watched last night if they think that performance is good enough for anyone in the top ten?

I think Dave Allen would of looked like Doncasters version of Muhammad Ali against that guy last night.

Fury is not nearly ready for a top HW right now and that's not an excuse that's a stone dead fact you know it, i know it and Fury knows it.

I agree with everything you say there pal, except the part of having a big right hand is not enough. Tyson made some silly mistakes last night. His head movement is still there but at one point I saw him go, slip out, slip in, bring his head straight down the line. It was like a lay back in reverse. He brought himself into pianetas contact range, could you imagine coming onto wilders right hand like that. It's a double whammy. There was loads of silly mistakes like that made. All wilder has to do is be patient.
I would love to see Tyson come back and claim all the belts but from what I saw last night, if he's fighting wilder next ,it's too early.

Ortiz is long past his best and is older than Highlander. He wouldn’t land clean on Fury and would eat jabs for 36 minutes.

Yeah I did see that, mate. It’s true, silly mistakes like that will cost him. He has to be fully switched on for 12 rounds. I just think he had the measure of him last night, and used it to blow off the rust, try a few things, sharpen up his rhythm and timing without worrying too much about getting sparked.

Funnily enough even though I don't think fury is close to his best I would favour him vs Ortiz.

    Ortiz has no footspeed. None.

I think fury would find it quite easy to keep about 5 foot away from Ortiz and just rack up points.

I thought he was very slow, clumsy no way near world level. I think tyso n could possibly get back to competing and possibly beating the top guys but imo he is far from that level, Panetta sorry for my spelling was so bad !!!

I think it was a great opponent for Tyson if they were sticking to the original plan of warming him back into it but no way is he ready for Wilder. That is only my opinion.
