That was the temple and not the forehead. The temple, jaw and the chin are the so called knockout buttons, Wilder
hit Ortiz right on the forehead in the 5th round of their fight and he made the chicken dance.

Nah that was more on the forehead. Look at the different angles if you want. Here’s another forehead shot since apparently “Fohead” KO shots are a new thing now to gage power...

Wilder has good power no doubt... but it’s getting a tad too hyped. There have been a good amount of guys in the past 15 years who hit every bit as hard as Deontay. A few I’d wager hit harder.

It's not a new thing to gage power but it's more difficult to hurt someone with one shot to the forehead than to
    the temple or the chin.

And still in those 2 videos you provided the knockouts came from shots which were more to the temple than to the forehead at least in my opinon but regardless of that Wladimir was a monstrous puncher so i don't know what you
    are trying to proof.

Watch the fight against Ortiz, you only need to watch the 5th round again and you know what Holyfield meant.

Holyfield is the only person that I have seen on the internet that correctly notices what Wilder and his team are trying to do far as skills go in a past interview so I always listen to his insight when it comes to Wilder. He isn't biased by hate, rival or pompousness from some folks in the boxing community.

Roy Jones wobbled Ruiz with a forehead shot, so I don't think a forehead shot alone is indicative of great power. Wilder talked in interviews about other places on the head that can hurt fighters (he always likes to confess secrets but can't talk about them cause then haters would find out) so Wilder actually showed everybody something about boxing that I have not heard from the boxing community before despite it being there in fights all this time. I saw two other fights recently where a forehead shot got the job done, the latest, Jennings/Dimintrenko when Jennings was getting desperate for a KO after too many rounds. It's obvious Wilder has great power though and is placing his shots better.

And the award for absolutely idiotic post goes to you. Stiverne got obliterated in the second fight and in the first fight DW was coming off or was dealing with a hand injury. Duhuapas nearly had his head knocked off. The power is real. Stop hating.

Sure he's a wild & sloppy slugger with poor technique & obviously has power but they are all puddings, dough boys, plumbers & marshmallow men he's taking out.. Ortiz was a gassed out, never was who will probably have a stroke next month! Half of his opposition looks like it barely got past medical screening...

I'd just like to know who he has kayoed worth a **** iyo so we can dissect & compare with other notable punchers.. Give me ONE name? & not that 39 ry old Cuban coronary patient who turned pro in his 30s & gassed after schooling him for however many rounds..

Exactly. It will be interesting to hear Fury’s input on Wilder’s power that supposedly rivals the best in history after they fight. I bet anything Tyson will say he doesn’t hit any harder than Wlad. Then again... Fury does NOT seem to like Wladimir too much so take it with a grain of salt I guess. Plus Wlad never really landed his A-Right hand on Tyson.

He has. Wilder has broken his hand several times. I noticed after his hand and arm surgery Wilder's punching technique is less sloppy and he doesn't swing his arms as much. Early in his career I knew all that wild swinging and sloppy punching was going to catch-up with him eventually. It seems the hand and arm injuries were his wake up call.

Deontay Wilder (37-0, 36 KOs) has broken his right hand at least three times in the past seven years. He had metal pins inserted after an injury he suffered in his seventh professional fight, a 90-second stoppage of Travis Allen in August 2009. Wilder then re-fractured the hand against Bermane Stiverne in January 2015, when he won the world title with a unanimous decision.

Wilder sustained the injuries July 16 during his eighth-round stoppage of Chris Arreola in Birmingham, Alabama. The dual surgeries, which took place in Birmingham, followed a brief procedure on July 21 to help stabilize the hand.

Wilder posted a short video from his hospital bed in between Thursday’s two operations, which his manager and co-trainer, Jay Deas, deemed successful.

“Everything went well,” said Deas, who co-trains Wilder along with former world champion Mark Breland and Russ Anber. “They fixed both the right hand and the right biceps, and he should be in recovery for approximately four to six months. He’ll start therapy on his hand as early as this week.”

ok so what is there to discuss? You just said he "obviously has power". Discussion over. Nobody is saying hes the hardest puncher in the history of mankind. Does he have power? You say he does so why keep trying to throw a "but" in there just for the sake of throwing in your hate for the guy? We get it! You dont like him and think he sucks! Does he have power? Yes.
40-0 39 kos. If it were easy other guys would be doing it. Now get over yourself clown.

    Thanks bro

I keep on pointing this contradiction out to those fan boys who pick Tyson KO1 or KO3 against every modern HW contender. It’s ridiculous.
