Is it true Jennings took 9 rounds and got floored off Dimitrenko?

Fair enough. I thought the ref should have given him a ten count though.

    This.

Parker gets called a bum yet Jennings is lauded as a top heavyweight.

I'll let you connect the dots as to why.

Jennings has done very well to get to where he has after starting boxing at 24. He's been bought along well since signing with Top Rank where he's been kept very active and his competition has gotten better with every fight. Another top 15-20 heavyweight would be good for him next.

Someone said Mansour could be his next opponent, I like the idea of that fight and won't rule out an 'upset'.

Jennings is Jennings, a somewhat light punching, high workrate guy with moderate skills and athleticism and the engine to fight on when other fighters start to tire. He's not a poor fighter, just someone who isn't necessarily going to look super impressive every time out.

It's a little concerning that he managed to get decked by Dimitrenko, but Dimi was fighting his heart out and landing some solid blows that I've never seen him throw before, and the shot was a perfectly timed counter to the back of the head (legit though) that scrambled Bryant's senses. He got back up and got the win so I'm not sure if much more needs to be said about that.

I see people comparing Jennings to Parker. Honestly I think that would be a very competitive fight right now. Parker has the athleticism and speed, but Jennings is a tricky guy who's able to make things very uncomfortable for fighters; I wouldn't rule out a win for either man. The fact that one blasted out Dimitrenko and the other struggled with him doesn't necessarily point to the answer on the night. Both men have attributes and weaknesses that will see them doing well or poorly against different types of opponents.

This dude loves AJ so the point of this thread is

    1) Parker beat Dimi quick
    2) Jennings is considered a good win for Ortiz but he got floored here
    3) Ortiz is Wilder's best win but Parker isn't AJ's

He's just fuming that The Furious One has the bottle to fight Wilder in the states and AJ is gearing up to rematch Whyte

A good fighter would have torched the big Russian in less than 4

Parkers win vs Dimitrenko was a joke. Rewatch those knock downs and the stoppage. LMAO.

Jennings did better vs Dimitrenko apart from getting dropped.

NEVER, but Wilder might fight him if he looked bad enough in victory.

No, he's undersized, always was. :nonono

Mind you, I'm not saying if everyone in the division weighed inside a 3-8lb range of him (as it works pretty much across the board except in CW & HW) that he would be a guaranteed top guy. His base ability is probably B+. The fact that he's competing in a field of super heavies (while being unquestionably too big to have ever had the option to simply drop to CW) brings him down a peg to a B-.
