Lmao a chin isnt determined by your size. Stay mad that Marciano hit harder than guys that weigh 50+ lbs more than him like Buddy Baer, Max Baer, Galento, Shkor and Primo Carnera. Ali himself said that his arms were sore just from joking around with Marciano, destroyed rex layne's front teeth and almost killed Carmine Vingo. He even broke some of the teeth of his second opponent Harry Bilazarian. Walcott and Louis both stated he was the hardest puncher they ever faced, and Dempsey himself said that Marciano was the hardest puncher he ever saw.

I don't even know why I try, people will continue to hate Marciano because he was a smaller man who beat larger men with longer reaches, and went undefeated. I guess its true that the more polarizing you are, the more success you had.

Rocky was a good little attrition puncher. No shame in that.

    What are your sources?

If he had that kind of power, do you have any theories about how so many unimpressive little fighters were able to last so many rounds against his nonstop onslaughts?

It could depend on the nuances of the fight. Someone trying to avoid getting KO’d is both less likely to get knocked out and less likely to win the fight.

A great example of this is Elmer Rush surviving rounds against Liston by moving and avoiding without really putting up a compelling fight.

Joe Louis also went the distance with small no namers. Would that bring his power into question as well, despite the overwhelming examples that point the other way?

Marciano beat the best heavyweights of his era, he KO'd guy that weighed in over 240 and some tall 6'4 and 6'5 but there were none that were contenders in his era. The guys that were bigger were knocked off by 5"10 Bob Satterfield, Harold Johnson 5'10, Archie Moore, Walcott, etc.

Marciano was an extremley hard damaging puncher with both hands, no question. The fact that he could keep throwing bombs until late in the fight was also impressive.

Nope Moore said both Durelle and Sheppard hit him harder he did say Marciano was the strongest fighter he faced.
Cockell said he was hit harder by other fighters but not so many times.
Louis didn't say Marciano hit him the hardest, he said he hit him harder than Schmeling.
    No hate, just facts .

No teeth into the front row, and no broken arms. Anyone repeating these fairy tales is either ignorant and gullible or too lazy to do any research of his own.Absurd either way!

Indeed his conditioning enabled him to throw as hard in the last round as the first ,a very damaging puncher who ruined lots of fighters because he gradually wore then down to a state of no resistance. Marciano ko'd a fat Pillsbury Doughboy who anyone could have done the same to ,it's not his fault he never faced a class super heavy ,it's just a fact.

Louis stated that Marciano was the hardest puncher he ever fought, and he fought max Baer, ergo Marciano would hit harder than Baer.

No he didn't show me the quote. You just keep perpetuating these old stories. Here are some verified quotes.

"Tell you the truth I didn't think too well of Marciano, and I wasn't anxious to fight him"
"I didnt figure on any problems with Marciano , he was strong sure, but he fought like a street brawler. Yeah I was right he was a street brawler , he couldn't touch me when it came to boxing"."But right then in the ring I knew I was busting him up with jabs".
Everything was fine until the 7th round. My age gave me away.;all of a sudden my legs gave out"
"The better fighter won but I wasn't really hurt until the knock out.He was a good puncher and very strong. He hit harder than Schmeling".

    Provide sources for your claims.

Lmao just because you’re ignorant of something doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. It’s well documented what he did to Lastarza and I believe the teeth were Rex laynes I forget but these are well documented. Try reading and researching smh. And to be fair Don Fight he was starting to slow down and he knew it hence his retirement after Moore.

https://www.nytimes.com/1981/04/13/sports/red-smith-joe-louis-a-sense-of-dignity.html the quote is somewhere in here at the end

Btw Moore only said Sheppard hit harder, and Walcott said Marciano was the hardest puncher he ever faced as well, and he fought Sheppard. This only further proves that Marciano was past his prime against Moore. Marciano said after the fight that it took too long to knock out Moore, and that he was slipping.
