Before I read past your first post intro; can I just say-from when I was a kid I imagined this brilliant 'what if' fight...and I still consider it a 50/50 classic that never happened. Amazed it doesn't come up more often (never seen it tbh)...so thanks. Duran close UD

 

Pryor maybe my best ever fighter a beast, but Duran decision s, he was too easy to hit.

 

Pryor was unorthodox. And way too busy.

 

duran. just as good as arguello but physically better able to carry everything with him up in weight.

 

Pryor was a great great fighter as well so with that bottle and Panama Lewis who is to say Pryor could not win.

 

Skill and versatility definitely go towards Duran, as well as having several the better scalp.

 

hawk time vs hands of stone I guess whoever can take the most abuse. both of these guys were maniacs in the ring, almost unhuman. someone could be subject to voluntary manslaughter after this one.

 

To any deep ESB: Somehow I have managed to miss Pryor. Which fights of Pryor's are the most fun to watch and/or most representative of his body of work and where to watch them, please?

Duran is so much the all round better fighter, Pryor is shorter than Duran , he has no Physical advantages, Duran hits harder and is a better defensive fighter . Aaron might not see round 10

 

his fights vs the man on my avatar are the main reason pryor is a boxing immortal. plus, you will be treated to the beautiful boxing style and mastery of my all time favorite fighter, alexis arguello.

My all time favorite fighter, and one of my hero's growing up was Alexis Arguello as well!

 

The fights everyone wanted to see in that time frame were: Arguello vs Duran; Duran vs Cervantes; and Duran vs Benitez. All of them could have happened, but none of them did happen. Duran decided to jump to WW to go after SRL, and along the way beat up Carlos Palomino.

 

i admired him for how he carried himself inside and outside the ring. back then, i would read all the boxing rags in publication and arguello had been dominant champ in 3 lower divisions, so i read a lot of stories about him and the type of man he was... i looked up to him. i took the night of this fight kinda hard.
