Even though Hrgovic hasn't looked as good as I thought he would since turning pro, I will be extremely shocked if he loses.
I think @sjp17 is a loyal and patriotic jock and/or friend of Cornish but the only compliment I can give Cornish is he’s the best Scottish heavyweight. Other than that it’s a bit meh. Hrgovic has had a really good amateur career and was tipped to maybe dethrone AJ. He hasn’t looked too clever when turning pro but he’s still levels above Cornish. He stops him, early. I’ll be surprised if we hear the end of the 3rd. I’d like to see Hrgovic and Yoka build towards a professional fight with Yoka having beat him a couple of times in the ams. Throw Joyce in the mixed who beat Hrgovic but lost to Yoka too and it’s a good little up and coming triple threat.
Its a good test this fight and perhaps a step too far but at least its better than fighting really low level opponents and KO them in a round or two. You have to admit his recent fights have been at a better level, i thought hed beat Sexton but fell a bit short.
Yeah it’s pleasing to see him finally settling down with good opposition.Joshua,Sexton and Hrgovic is a tidy run. It’s time for Gary to get paid.He did his apprenticeship and tonnes of sparring camps around Europe.Theres a place for a heavyweight like him but after this I’d like to see him pick up a win against a credible but realistic opponent.
I know he just spent a bit of time sparring Povetkin, that experience can only help him at the end of the day he is living the dream and getting paid for it, i feel all too often boxers are analysed too harshly on here, Cornish would flatten all us guys in seconds
analysed to harshly? we are fans, so we should say someones good when not? im Scottish and ant him to do well but he did noting against AJ, and much the same against Sexton, just cause your big doesn't mean you should be a heavyweight boxer.
But Cornish aint fighting us, he fighting professionals. I don't think people here judge to harshly, to be fair i think they are holding back as it is Cornish we are talking about! Just out of interest, do you know Cornish?
Lets get this into perspective he lost to one of the top 3 world heavies very quickly he admits himself he didnt put up a fight. In Sexton he lost on points to a good British level fighter, he was close but had a poor night, the score cards were close though. Everyone is entitled to thier opinion but you have to admit some of its harsh.
No i dont know him, my favourite heavy is Andy Ruiz Jr , i like his style, rapid hands just maybe lacks that savage punch power to be champ. Regarding Cornish im Scottish and a fan of Cornish, i think he can win a british title, perhaps euro level also, at world level itll be difficult a lot of good fighters there
