I like Tyson fury. He is my favorite active heavyweight. But I think Wilder knocks him out. Wilder has explosiveness, viciousness and is unorthodox which negates fury's skills. Wilder boxing IQ is so bad that it actually works FOR him in this matchup because he won't react to fury's feints and tricks the way a really technical and cerebral guy like Wlad did. It's like pointing a gun at a Lion. It doesn't know it's supposed to be scared and it will maul you death because the gun(fury's mediocre looking punch) isn't powerful enough to stop the lion(Wilder) dead in his tracks. Fury is not ready he needs to fight the perfect fight to beat Wilder because he needs to beat him every second of every round while his B or C game would be enough for Joshua simply because of styles. Joshua is slower, stiffer and actually tries to adhere to his textbook boxing ABCs, fury will clown him and Joshua although he hits hard, doesn't hit hard enough to get fury out with one punch. I'm not evenconvinced fury had the power to keep Wilder off. Wilders chin isn't great but tbh the guy has bad intentions, unless you lay him out, hurting him and trying to go after him might not even be in your best interest and one of the guys who hurt him managed to get enough respect to keep him away for the rest of the night so we know Wilder will try to pay you back if you sting him.
The idea that Fury is featherfisted is a bit of a myth imo. It's just that he generally doesn't sit on his punches, doesn't put his body into them at all. When you look at his training footage on the heavy bag where he actually throws with serious intent, then it's a different story all together. Those punches look like they'll hurt just about anyone. I have a feeling that if Wilder comes out swinging for the fences with no technique whatsoever against Fury, he'll walk into something big...
He's not feather fisted, he smashed chisoras face in and stopped him. But he doesn't tend to have concussive power with single shots or 1-2's Wilder is so defensivley poor that a prime fury could bust him up for a ref stoppage in 7-8 rounds, think the duhaupas fight but 10x worse But I don't think he can pull it off now.
fury cant punch, everyone looks vicious on the pads because its a still target and the sound of glove on the bag/pads sounds powerful.
One doesn't even need big one punch KO power to get Wilder off him, he's such a bad boxer that he goes into panic mode whenever he catches a big one. Ortiz fight is the best example: one good shot from Ortiz that didn't even look that powerful and all Wilder could do after that was to hold on for dear life. He got absolutely battered with nothing coming back from him, 10 more seconds and it would have been over. He has no idea what to do when he gets caught.
