Size is a factor. It's just not the only factor. It think it can be the difference when all other departments are equal. Which is often not the case.

How did Archie Moore give away signicant weight? and 4 or 5 inches? Yet still win. He had the ability to box, move, stamina and Ring IQ. Just an example that there are other variables in boxing.

    Oh, not that site again?

It's been around for some years now and has drawn a few people in, and hooked them into using the so-called 'analyses', to fortify their arguments. More fool them (although some have gone on to realize the error of their ways, I suspect).

It is hard to describe just how bad that blog is; quite probably one of the worst I have had the misfortune of encountering. I'll have to settle for referring to it as Light Emitted Dung.

I agree with the article 100%. People mythologize Ali into this indestructible giant killer, and he really only killed one giant, Foreman, in his life, and that was under very dubious circumstances. Ali couldn't flatten 205 pound Frazier or even put 190 pound Patterson down for the count.

I doubt Ali could even knock out John Ruiz.

Horrible article. According to that "writer" Ali couldn't beat the Klitschko's because of his lack of size yet Lamon Brewster who was no more than 6'2 knocked him out. I respect the Klitschko's but Ali would have clowned them both. Size matters to an extent but special fighters like Ali, Holmes, Moore and more recently Toney, Holyfield, Tyson have show that skill and talent matter more.

Yeah but trying to make it seem like Ali or Holmes or Louis would be condemned men if they had to meet any modern day heavyweight in the ring is ridiculous. Ali is called slow and plodding. I think I read somewhere in there that Butterbean would KO Joe Louis.

Also saying that Ali and Louis wouldn't stand a chance against modern B level heavyweights...

Ali was not a KO puncher but he beat many big men .. Foreman, Lyle, Weiner, Bugner, Mathis, Lewis, Norton, Terrell, Williams and others. At 6’3” w an 80” reach he was pretty big himself. If he fought today he’d easily be a rock solid 225 to 230. He had big legs.

Just a FYI, that guy is almost most certainly getting his content from this site. He may be reading this very thread.

The word usage is just way too similar to the popular topics and thread titles in this forum.

This isn’t the first time. I’ve seen an entire analyses of mine from this site being ripped for an Instagram post by a very popular boxing account.

What’s funny is when mentioning Ali shavers and Frazier going against their larger opponents they won lol. Klitschkos and Lewis and Fury and AJ are good fighters but are also a product of the times. When you use the old time machine in fantasy discussions I always like to think what a fighter would weigh today and what they would have weighed yesteryear. Fighters in the 40s and 50s thinking was weigh less today it’s weigh more. Very few boxers trained w weights so I doubt any of these SHW would weigh close to what they weigh. No way Ali comes in at 215 fighting today and no way Klitschko weighs 240 then. So these arguments of fantasy fights must be taken w a grain of salt and to me an equal playing field of training. If you don’t view those matches that way good for you I get it.
