    @gdm

He becomes number 1 by beating the number 1 guy, which is Joshua.

Fury's retirement after the win over Klitschko ended his reign as 'The man'......

He denied the right to what every champion has, a rematch.

Even Paulie said that fight just felt special all week with their workouts ect and it delivered so yeah Fury n Wilder can’t get near that imo.
It might look at times that Fury has this big fan base but reality hit home when they wanted WLad rematch in the U.K. and interest was very low and imo the more folk realise what they gonna get with Fury he could even lose fans.

As I posted in another thread that seems to be getting derailed over a pissing match, I expect Wilder-Fury will be the biggest US Boxing PPV this year.

Wilder and Fury will be the main event for the WBC and "Lineal" Heavyweight Championship of the World.

And Al Haymon will likely load the undercard with PBC names. Expect to see a Charlo or two. Maybe a Jarrett Hurd. Maybe an Adrien Broner. Warren may slot Carl Frampton.

Errol Spence may even get a co-headliner slot. They're all available.

It's basically the PBC's first PPV. They've been building toward this for a couple years. They're going to make the most of it.

It will likely be a showcase undercard for the "names" under the PBC banner.

Fury and Wilder have small but very vocal fanbases. Many of their fans arent actually "fans" of them but more haters of AJ/Hearn.

I'll be pretty surprised if this fight does well on PPV as both guys are proven to be underperformed at the box office. Wilder in particular doesn't do great numbers on FREE TV. So I doubt he will do amazing numbers on US ppv.

In the uk it may do ok on PPV for a 5am card, because a lot of AJ fans will buy it to look at the competition.

Wilder-Arreola and Wilder-Washington BOTH drew 1.8 million viewers in the US on free TV.

Joshua-Klitschko aired on both HBO and Showtime, and COMBINED they didn't draw as many viewers as Wilder-Washington.

Wilder draws as many or more boxing fans than any other US boxer does on Showtime or HBO or Free TV. Look at Wilder's ratings since he won the title and look at every other boxer's ratings. Wilder's up there or has surpassed nearly all.

So you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

Name all the U.S. boxers who consistently draw higher TV ratings in the US than Wilder does? Hell, name one.

You guys have badmouthed Wilder for so long you've gone blind.

What's the typical free tv to ppv conversion rate?

How many of that 1.8 are gonna lay down $70 rather than stream.

If you put Floyd on free TV he'd get 10x that rate

    All will be revealed.

So basically you can name no one ... except the retired Floyd Mayweather.

    Got it.

We're going to find out because this is basically the PBC's first PPV. They've put these guys on FREE TV for a couple years to build an audience and build their names.

Now they'll see how many purchase their product now that they've all become champs.

That was the whole point of it ... to expose them to a wider audience.

    Are you dizzy.

Stop comparing apples with oranges. AJ's fights on US TV go out in the afternoon not primetime.

Not to mention showtime/hbo are not free TV.

The fact you think Wilder v Washington drew a good number is another classic

I really want wilder to beat those ovearratwd britbums, but YKSA numbers. The only reason some of wilders numbers are semi decent is because he was on fox, as soon as he went to showtime , his numbers dropped. So here you go

Wilder vs Ortiz on showtime peaked at 1.1m .
Wilder vs washinton peaked at 1.8 . NOT 2.5 and that was on fox.
    That’s really bad!!
Coz Garcia vs Thurman on public cable did like 5.1m.

Golovkin with martirosyan peaked at 1.3 on HBO , basically Golovkin against any bum does more than Wilder did against his best oponent .
Wlad vs jennings peaked at 1.7 on HBO

Pretty much anybody does better numbers than wilder, unless he’s on public cable.

Oh look another money thread, while it's highly likely it does more, no way it gets 500k buys here when the fight will be at 4am.

I will be part of one of those buys most likely though.
