I never understand why people post about how fans are being ripped off by PPV, how it's too expensive on top of the Sky Sports subscription etc etc.

Why don't you just go to the pub and watch it for the price of a Coke?

I'm flying out to watch this so can't wait. Not sure how many numbers it'll do in the UK at 4 AM though. Promotion of the event will kick into overdrive from here on out, starting with public workout on Sunday

Yeh I heard the first one did around 120K buys on Boxnation PPV. Good numbers for the middle of the night and no UK fighter?

Canelo-GGG 2 dosent need high UK PPV numbers. It has US PPV Behind it, remember 300K US PPV Buys is the same as 1M UK PPV Buys because of the pricing structure.

That's why Femi is a idiot, by not going to Vegas and risk making it stale here by these continous Stadium fights

As the first fight was not exactly Froch v Groves 1 and more like Skeete v Gavin, the figures will be well down this time.

The first fight was no draw, the public get turned off by PED users and simply the rematch is lacking the excitement before the first fight.

Most PPV fights end up stinkers, the first fight was arguably a stinker so I do expect much less interest.

GGG wins again for me - I don't recognise the scorecard corruption in the first fight.

    Lol

If Canelo v GGG 2 does 300k ppv buys in the US it will be a huge huge flop.

They will be budgeting for way more than that. The first fight did 1.3 mil so it should be hitting that as a minimum.

That's not my point. This thread is about BT and UK PPV. Not the U.S. Market. I don't know why you think Canelo-GGG will do 300K. Are you autistic by any chance ?

Your point is the UK numbers are irrelevant which is ridiculous.

BT will still want to see a return on there investment. What we don't know is how much they have paid and what's the break even number? This is the same BT sport which is going through a tough spell right now so the fight could do over 1 mil buys in the states but if it flops here they won't be happy.

100k wouldnt be bad but if it does less than that then I think there's an issue.

Canelo-GGG 2 dosent need to be PPV, but because their are so many twerps in this country, it is. You've just predicted under 100K. Exactly, it's blatant ripping off.

Well we don't know what the rights would cost? Maybe they are asking for a huge rights fee and sky and BT don't see any value in paying such an amount for the fight.

100k is what a WWE ppv gets over here so that number seems like a realistic one to me

This does less than 30K, with sky maybe 60K but like many have said here if you're prepared to wait up all night for it, you are prepared to find one of the various stream available in 1080P.

The UK Numbers are irrelevant when a fight has US PPV Behind it. Remember 300K US PPV Buys=1M UK PPV Buys. Because of the pricing structure.

So for fights like Canelo-GGG2, Mayweather-Mcgregor, Mayweather-Pacquiao, UK PPV is pennies on top. And in a ideal world wouldn't even be on PPV here
