Deontay wilder fought Ortiz at just under 215 lbs.
Tyson Fury was about 245 lbs against Klitschko.
Fury was then roughly 276 pounds against Seferi and then 258 lbs against Pianeta. Fury has suggested that he would like to be 252 lbs against Wilder.

Fury is never really a boxer that looks particularly in shape but if 252 lbs is the goal weight against Wilder I think that is too heavy. What do other people think, what would the ideal weight be for Fury, if he seriously got in shape. Would it be lighter than the 245 lbs against Klitschko. What weight would give him the best chance against Wilder?

I am a fan of both men and am finding this fight difficult to call. For me it all depends what shape Fury turns up in although I think this fight is a bit too soon for Fury.

250 should be perfect. It's a good sign he los 18 pounds between Seferi and Pianeta. He will automatically lose some more in the next camp.

He needs to be a little bit lighter than usual because he needs to move a lot against Wilder who is a lot faster and more explosive than anybody he has ever fought against, i think 245-250 is a good weight.

I would like to see him a touch lighter than in the Klitschko fight. Probably 240lbs. He is going to need to be at his most nimble vs Wilder.

The lighter the better..he seems like a considerate guy. When he gets stretchered out you dont want the lads straining to much.

As enormous as his frame is, and the amount of leverage that he can potentially generate, you would think he would put on some muscle mass to add some power to his arsenal

not overly Bruno/Ibeabuchi level development, but just a decent amount of muscle for added strength so he could start working on his knock out power, which is almost nonexistent

With some one shot KO powe added to his game, hr could start be even more effective than just being fast, mobile with a long reach

Can you imagine if Fury he was developed to the level of Klitschko muscularity?

that’s not overly developed to drain your stamina , but obviously added brutal force to Wlad’s one shot KO power

I am sure some will say fury “is not the bodybuilder type”...,,,,no, his genetics are not to be a rippped Bruno type.

But hr could add at least a decent amount of muscle in hopes of building somewhat more knock out power; because he has none as he is

This. 240 seems perfect, since Wilder is faster than Wlad and Wilder never gasses. At 240 Fury should be able to time Wilder, but also won't gas himself, since he isn't carrying the extra weight.

It's weird people think he has no power. I think it's simply a case of his 'grown up' style of hitting and moving. Fury one punched Cunningham, the guy couldn't make the count, and that was a short hook. Cunningham has only been stopped by Fury, yet survived big punches from Mansour, Adamek, Huck, so he's not some delicate cruiser as some make out. Fury dropped Hammer who Povetkin didn't hurt and Jennings confirms from sparring that Povetkin has real 'one punch' power. And watch the Abel fight where Fury drops the cautious style after Abel headbutts him, starts brawling, slinging big punches, and immediately begins to drop the guy to end the fight.

I dont think he was 245 against Wlad but I think 245 is where he wants to be for this fight.

He doesn't punch hard because that's the way he chooses to fight, not because he lacks muscle. As MorvidiusStyle pointed out, when he sits down on his punches he can generate some serious power. He just prefers not to sacrifice mobility for the sake of KOs since his end goal is to win the fight by the easiest and safest means possible.

Tyson has a huge gut, just that alone weighs 30 pounds. he can get down to 239 easily.... he would be lightning fast, Wilder wouldn't even touch him... it would be like Usyk-Gassiev all over again. just depends how bad Tyson wants it.

Problem is that it's all too soon for Fury, drastic weight cuts in short amounts of time are going to add up and sap his performance.

Surely 240 is too little on a 6'8 frame... what power can he hope to achieve?End up throwing pillows at Wilders face all night?

At 260 Lbs he made a durable Chisora quit in his corner back in 2014. He beat Chisora to a pulp.
