Give me examples of fights where a cherrypick went bad and won!

I remember when Lehlohonolo Ledwaba had been champion for three years with only a single loss in his early career. This was his 6th defence and his opponent dropped out. On 2 weeks notice they got some unknown bum from the Philippines in as a substitute.

    Pag-wayo? Puqyo?

    Something like that.

Alas, the substitute beat him like a drum and everybody can spell Pacquiao now.

You could be right there. It was that long ago that I didn't realise that Honeyghan was ranked no1 by the WBC at the time of that fight in 1986

" if anyone would like to donate a wheelchair for her" Quite easily the best post fight speech I've ever heard. The amount of people I've shown that too and had them creasing at it I couldn't count..How could you not be a fan after just that speech alone

Also iii, he had two styles I thought at two different weights. 160 he threw the hardest punches bar Jackson ive ever seen but he could gas and become vulnerable throwing with that kind of power(never a chin issue with gas in the tank) then at 168 he calmed down and boxed beautifully in a lot of fights there

 I forgot about that, who says British boxing was terrible back then? Haha

Haha, I just remember the shock of the Price fans, all sorts of excuses and reasons, from his eardrum was burst to he was hit on the back of the head.

Even on the commentary Paul Smith and John Rawlings (before the replay) were saying something like "Price caught with a HUGE shot" and when they played the replay.. errr it looked like a tap LOL

I remember Paul Smith saying "Price wasn't exposed tonight.."

I might have to watch the Boxnation coverage again, it will make me laugh.

Not that Spinks had much to offer at this point anyway, but Leon Spinks lost to John Carlo. It was Carlo's first fight ever - he had been working in a gym, but I don't think a boxing gym - and had to borrow gear for the fight. Carlo knocked him out in one.

Some of you guys are posting upsets and not really cherrypicks.

The Cherrypick of all-time imo was Delahoya vs Pacquiao.
At the time Pacquiao was thought to have maxed out as far as weight goes fighting at 130 lbs.
The only fight Pacquiao had above that was at 135 lbs vs David Diaz (a cherrypick by Pacquiao)

There were quite a few fighters at 147-154 lbs for Delahoya to fight. Just as big a money fight for Delahoya to fight Margarito who the fans wanted to see, but instead Delahoya picked on the little guy way smaller than he who had names to his resume.
Cherry pick gone wrong. I don't think Delahoya landed a clean shot all night long vs Pacquiao.

As a sidenote that I think is funny, Tecate Beer was a big sponsor for Delahoya vs Pacquiao, the slogan for Tecate beer is, "para los que no se rajan!"...….translated 'for those who don't quit!"
There was commercial after commercial and billboards galore across the country promoting Delahoya-Pacquiao that read, "para los que no se rajan!"

…….Delahoya ends up quitting on his stool in that Pacquiao fight.
