The list of ATG and HOF fighters within the last 30 years that have either a failed test or operated with very suspicious circumstances is longer than the list of presumably clean elite fighters.

The HOF's are becoming a sad story when proven PED's abusers are inducted. Mosely especially after he claimed innocence & even bragged he;d passed a polygraph with flying colors. He claimed he thought he was having treatment for allergies LOL Then BALCO spoke up producing receipts & he had to come clean.
Its sad to see the greatest sport on earth made a laughing stock

At least this answers (to some degree) how many HOF fighters Wlad fought in his career.

    Congrats to Byrd. Well deserved.

Ahhh it doesnt matter. Without the Peds both of those were still fantastic fighters. Also ive seen plenty of threads on both fighters where the quesiton is "what do we think Prime Mosley v ....... or Prime Pryor v ......... But in their primes they were on Peds. Same with superman Roy Jones Jr. At his peak the prime RJJ was seen as as good as it gets but through those years he was PEDDED to the eye balls. People go on about Joe Calzaghe not facing a prime RJJ but that prime RJJ was a drugs cheat.

Both those guys fought in an era where about 70-80% of their opposition was pedded up too. Its all just too messy an era to dismiss a great fighters career over it. Sorry, struggling to word it quite how i wana put it across.

PEDS weren't even tested for in Pryor's time so I'm not sure if he's technically a PED cheat.

He is a water cheat though. Only water allowed in the corner and Panama Lewis did say he mixed the bottle and you can't exactly mix water with water.

Yeah Mosely was dirty but again he didn't duck or fail any tests so if the commission doesn't test for the cream and the clear then that's their mistake.

Average Joes try to keep as much of their taxes all the time, are you saying you wouldn't exploit a loophole like the crappy commission testing for 10 million dollars?

The only punishable offense is failing the test.

It's up to the commissions to fix that.the fighter just needs to to fight and try to win.
The fight Business is hard enough for fighters

I think what you're saying is that because so many can be presumed to be using something, it's hard to hold it against an individual when one gets caught. To your point about RJJ, Richard Hall was also caught with a banned substance when they fought.

    I mean think about it.

    Canelo failed a test.
    Luis Ortiz failed a test.
    Fury failed a test.
    Salido failed a test.
    Bute failed a test.
    Sturm failed a test.
    Vitali failed a test.
    Tarver failed a test.
    Mosley failed a test.
    Morales failed a test.
    Holyfield failed a test.
    Jones failed a test.
    Tyson failed a test.
    Toney failed a test.
    Vargas failed a test.
    Whitaker failed a test.

Randall Bailey, Chavez Jr., Peterson, Sam Vargas, Rios, Povetkin, Stiverne, Arreola, Briggs, Funeka, Joan Guzman, Molina Jr., Morrison, Haugen all failed tests.

Pacquiao never failed a test but made a big deal about testing and Ariza made suspicious comments.
Marquez never failed a test but trained with a master chemist and got huge chest acne.
Mayweather never failed a test but got a retroactive IV exemption.
De La Hoya never failed a test but was accused of having a non-disclosure agreement with the NSAC with respect to failed tests by Arum, his former promoter.
Gamboa never failed a test but his name was found on a steroid application list in a lab raid.
    Pryor had his black bottle.

Many many more have been accused.

These are some of the best fighters to compete in their divisions. So I can't be bothered with making the HOF a purity test.

pryor was a drug addict and as far as i am aware never took perfomance enhancing drugs

yes he took hard recreational drugs but i am guessing they were detrimental to his boxing / cant see how being out of your head / to whacked out to train is the same as steroids to make you train longer and harder.

albeit both bring you an earlier than normal death

They didn’t start testing for steroids until the 80’s, and in boxing they didn’t test for these drugs until the 90’s. And USADA and Global WADA drug testing protocols didn’t come about until 2000. VADA came around in 2011.
