Do you consider Joshua, Wilder, and Fury to be elite

I think they all get wrecked in the 90s, Joshua the least so, but hey that’s me

 

they have not. other than size, everything else has regressed. thats boxing as a whole, but there are still individuals today who could compete against the best in any era, its just few and far between.

Yep well exactly; Of course they're going to, in general, look slicker, quicker, more skilled and smoother the lower in weight class you go. And conversely look less prepossessing and formidable to the fan, or guy in the street the higher you go. Added the end bit as I recall my mate saying it was... 'like watching ants'...on an an early very low weight scrap at the start of a big Don King bill.

 

many reasons. one of the main ones, imo, is the change from 15 to 12 for fights. that killed the advantage that smaller high endurance guys had. now, bigger guys had the advantage against guys they couldnt outlast at 15. this started a slow shift towards size being a more determining factor in fights than endurance.
take a look at the best fights this year at hw and compare their pace to that of the best fights of the 70's... and thats over 15 rds. today its absolutely normal to see a heavyweight "punch himself out" in the 5th rd. this is more sumo than greco roman.

 

none of them. They have all somehow used an old Klitchko as ways to say they are Klitchko's level. Well Fury and Joshua have. But they still have not proven elite..

 

Go back to the seventies, look at all the champs in each division, now look at today. You can't argue
