I don't believe any version of smokin Joe beats 70's young Foreman.

But how does the Frazier of 1971 do vs the old Foreman that fought Holyfield?

Joe was as tough as old boots but i don't know if he ever had the chin to take Foreman's shots.

Fight of the century finished Frazier a bit for me, took more out of the winner imo..I think hes bobbing and weaving wore down and he was easier to catch. He might be able to get through the rocky part of the fight early and drown Foreman eventually. Tough fight style wise though

Can old Foreman get his shots off on Frazier’s head motion. I think he would have major issues hitting the target early on, but his power would probably catch joe at some point and maybe finish Frazier around round 9 in a fight Frazier would be winning.

I think George would still bomb him out early. That uppercut was kryptonite to Joe's bobbing defense.

Frazier stopped and had to reset everytime foreman caught him with a punch or shoved him , opening him up to more shpts.
Thats the biggest problem, frazier might go longer without getting hit against an old foreman but once he gets hit solid its over because even if he doesnt go down right away, he stops in his tracks, resets and gets hit again with the uppercut.and its downhill from there

Frazier 68-71 would lose by late stoppage imo, old Foreman would have problems in the beginning to hit Frazier clean but eventually he would catch him and stop him hopelessly behind on the scorecards but a win by UD for Frazier would be within the realms of possibility.

Stewart gave everyone except tyson trouble. Completely different fighter.

Frazier is probably the most useless aggressive fighter ever once you got him going backwards.

    Chavez could actually box.

Tyson and Dempsey atleast had bounce in his step and fast feet and hands. If they got pushed back they could go atleast go back on the attack with any punch from either hand immediately because of his explosiveness.

Duran was slick and strong he could fight going any way. See the hagler and barkley fights.

Marciano was strong as heck, could roll under you if you tried to push him and atleast had 2 hands to retaliate.

Frazier had slow feet, when he was pushed back he squared up and had to reset and since pushing him back meant you had distance, you were safe because frazier only had the hook( no fast feet or explosive straight right) and he would have to reset, do one step forward and a bob down ward before he was dangerous again once he was pushed back. he was so much like a wind up toy.

Foreman is a stylistic nihtmare at any age.
Joe ks never going to put him down with one shot, even if young frazier is much better than old foreman he will be pushed back and frazier will never ever be able to beat foreman going backward.

Foreman beat, I think, one ranked fighter during his entire comeback and it was a one shot knockout in a fight he was losing. I pick Frazier to beat the **** out him. There’s also no telling if the ref would allow Foreman to use both arms to blatantly push Frazier backwards.

So what if he just walks foreward like antonio margarito?
Frazier just can NOT stand his ground vs foreman. Hes going backward whether he wants to or not.
And it doesnt matter how littke you think of comeback foreman, frazier isnt beating him going backwards.

1.His hook comes from a bobbing and stepping forward motion. He cannot execute it going backwards.
2.He does not have a check hook in his arsenal(or any other punch that he can throw on the move that foreman has to respect).
3.He does not have pretty footwork in his arsenal.

If he goes backwards hes ****ed. And hes going backwards. Its that simple.
