Those were 5 pretty clear rounds for Canelo imo. The 3rd was razor close but i gave it to Canelo for landing the body shots , right hands and uppercuts. Punch variation trumps a jab. This content is protected
Forget media cards and Comp-U-Box. This is all anyone needs: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...saúl-Álvarez-at-last-ibs-official-rbr.599949/
They were close rounds, but Canelo landed the much better punches, and controlled the tempo of the fight. Golovkin was just following around missing most of his punches and getting countered with power punces. Round four was closer.
Pick em rounds where you couldn’t complain either way but as an example of me calling em even one of those last rounds you have Roy Jones calling the action with a seven punch combo from Canelo and immediately after he calls the same from Golovkin,I do concede that Canelos stuff looked better quality but does that and should that 30 secs of quality beat what Golovkin does for the remainder?im afraid I don’t have the answers which is why imo a draw was a fair decision. The one card that went below the radar was the judge who gave the draw but unusually had round seven for Canelo which even Byrd had scored for GGG.
When 80% of ringside and press row have you winning, that’s enough for me. I had GGG way ahead. Clenelo couldn’t even get a draw on my card even if I gave him every close round. GGG is gonna rectify all this in the coming weeks.
Canelo landed the best punch in round seven in the last seconds of the round. Before that both guys were putting decent work.
Oh it wasn’t even 80% I’m quite sure it was over 90%with even pro Canelo sites like Ego and Dontay who were ringside and had it for Golovkin by a few rounds. Problem is like Paulie says you’re dealing with a guy who for some reason folk want to go out of their way to find things to give him rounds and more often than not you’ll find something
Even if you go by compubox which I think is a joke, most of the rounds were close. I though Canelo had the cleaner punches. If you don't have a knockout or the fight is within a few rounds you have basically turned the outcome into something similar to judging a gymnastics competition.
I agree. I’m betting GGG heavy. He isn’t just out to beat Clenelo. He’s out to beat DLH, NSAC and the corruption in boxing.
