I believe Canelo is in the Top 5 P4P fighters in terms of defensive ability, I feel in this regard he`s underestimated, PED`s don`t help with defensive abilty, does he deserve more respect on this front?

Great example of a loss being good for a career. He saw how hard it was to hit the pretty boy, and decided to incorporate that in to his own game. Improving it in a big way.
GGG should get through it this time though.

How would Hagler`s skills have matched up against Canelo`s defense?

He has excellent upper body movement and good distance awareness. So yeah pretty good defensively.

He already lost against Mayweather, Lara and Golovkin. And plenty of dodgy scorecards, clenbuterol, handwrap issues etc.
Anyone who thinks he is a P4P fighter is a clown

Great defensive skills but then again any accolades he deserves are now tainted.

He is a PED cheat after all.

He went out there (totally juiced up) to survive. Even the 7-5 scorecards weren’t really realistic, it was more like 8-4, 9-3. Wasn’t that close and hard to judge.

Would he be a big draw if he wouldn’t be Mexican and promoted by GBB?

Gennady thinks that the man who reduced him to a jabber, kept him from landing any significant body punches, and landed about two total clean hard punches isn't P4P.. That's gold.

In round 5 against Golovkin it looked amazing. But that isn't representative of his overall defensive ability. That one moment (and maybe some flattering sparring highlight packages) happened to resemble A++ mastery, but his regular "game conditions" defense is more like a solid B.

Floyd Mayweather was a defensive genius and he was a proven PED cheat.

Lomachenko, Mikey Garcia, Spence, Golovkin, Usyk, Joshua etc. They are P4P fighters. Just because he is a PPV superstar that doesn’t mean he is one of the bests.

I think Jacobs and BJS would also beat him.

Please tell me which PED has a direct correlation on defensive boxing ability.

i wasnt even trying to get into anything that happens outside the ring. i know enough about boxing to not need anyone to explain to me whats happening inside the ring, and ggg-canelo was a close fight.
