Tommy Carruthers is looking for some passionate and dedicated individuals with talent to train to become professional boxers, our target destination is fighting for the world titles in Las Vegas, training to become World Champions with unique skill sets and a true standard of excellence in ability to rival that of all the greats within the history of boxing.

Based in Glasgow, Scotland, Tommy Carruthers continues to teach cutting edge Jeet Kune Do around the world, the art created by the late Bruce Lee. The first student of Mr Lee, the late Mr Jesse Glover was mentor to Tommy for over 15 years, as was the last student of Mr Lee, the late Mr Ted Wong, a mentor to Tommy for over 20 years.

Those wanting to try out can contact Tommy directly and make an appointment via his Facebook page.

Modified Boxing is a big part of Jeet Kune Do, Tommy is the cutting edge of Jeet Kune Do worldwide. He's not wanting to create a boxer like everyone else, he's wanting to create a highly skilled fighter that boxes like nobody else. Revolutionary in every way, this is going to shake the very foundation of boxing.

Thank you, it sure is an exciting time, this has never been done before. Imagine a 57 year old Bruce Lee training a prime Mike Tyson to rewrite the Science of Boxing, refined to the point of the blade.

    Sounds like hyperbole mate.

What makes Bruce Lee a better boxing trainer than Cus D’mato? Nothing thats what. You must respect the new ground you are treading.

With the greatest of respect for Cus D'Amato, it's our love of boxing that brings us to the ring.

I'm sure Cus would agree, with constant rabid refinement in all directions, even the best can be improved.

    Absolutely I agree.

But your thread opener of taking on some new lads to go pro and eventually compete in Vegas for world titles coupled with the ‘imagine Bruce Lee training a prime Mike Tyson’ smacks of grandiose ideas far beyond your station for now.

Just walk before you run, take some lads on,get them bouts and try to be innovative with your training but leave out the bluster/nonsense and people will respond better.

So I’m a trainer looking for some lads and I suggest I’m ‘going to shake the very foundations of boxing’,revolutionise the sport and raise the bar for everybody.

I look forward to seeing your lads on HBO PPV mate.

We engaged Conor McGregor, if he had accepted the offer, the outcome would have been quite different.

However, he is loyal to his crew, have to respect that, he's not going to drop guys from his team to let someone new in and take over.

No, not at all, I'm all about being positive. Had we trained Conor his conditioning, tools and delivery system would have been totally reconfigured and calibrated.
