You make your own judgements. I only know Bandeedo from this thread and he’s made fundamental errors for any line of reasoning/debate. Somebody who makes those sort of errors is evidencing a lack of ability to accurately evaluate anything. I can only associate him with that. You need to define what you mean by ‘best’ as well. I enjoy some posters because they are entertaining and controversial, they are great posters in my eyes even if they don’t know anything about boxing.

 

Go back to any of the claims I made in this thread and respond to any of them instead of attacking me. The majority have derided Garcia for his lack of quality in his opposition and you haven’t answered any of us in that regard. That’s a good place to start. Then give it some context by comparing it to Lomachenko’s/Crawford’s etc. resume and explain why you think Garcia should be mentioned with those names taking relative quality of opposition and performance into account.

 

i dont want it to look like cherry picking on my part, believe me, some of what you stated is easy pickins. just pick something you disagree with that you can defend and lets go from there. it doesnt really matter what you pick, the level of knowledge and reasoning ability will be evident from both sides as the point is debated.

 

He's accurate like a Swiss watch. I can't remember a time he's said anything that was wrong. I usually agree with him, and from time to time when we differ, I feel like his reasons are sound. There aren't that many guys like that around here. If you've been here for six years I'm surprised you haven't run into him before.

Well, for one thing your idea about evolution is flawed. Evolution doesn't mean that things keep getting better. It means that they adapt and change to suit the circumstances. You aren't seeing improvement from Robinson's time to our own, you are seeing some changes in style or tactics, and adjustments to newer rules. Claiming that Lomachenko is better than Robinson doesn't take into account that they don't do the same things. Some things he's better at some things he's worse.

Hidden and mixed up with your flawed understanding of evolution is the notion of endless progress. You don't seem to acknowledge either that nature has limits, that physical evolution is a slow process that takes thousands of years, or that evolution isn't always beneficial. Sometimes progress goes down blind alleys and most mutations are sterile. Even in the sciences, things are not smooth. Progress when it happens comes in fits and starts, with regressions and cycles. It isn't linear and unidirectional.
