I never made the claim that evolution is perfectly correlated to progress.
Think about the parameters you’re comparing, physical evolution throughout history versus a sport that was created yesterday in comparison. Evolution within the constraints of a sport are rapid. Massive changes can occur within a matter of five years. Massive changes can occur as a result of a more connected world. That means progress in many regards (research related to biology, nutrition, genetics) is exponential at this point in history.
That drives the clearly evident, objectively empirical fact that athletes are better athletically today. Not because of evolution in the sense you’re thinking, but in the way that we can stop doing as many things that are detrimental to development. Hence the manner that IQ/height etc. increased to a point as global nutrition improved.
To equate our evolution as a species to the evolution of the sport you need to get the temporal ratios right. Our past 35 years in the sport out of ~350 years versus the equivalent 600 000 out of ~6 million years? That’s what you’re comparing? Do things change in 600 000 years taking all the fits and starts and stagnation into account? You’re making this comparison that I never made, perhaps I should’ve been more clear that I meant evolution within the constraints of the sport and the times we live in rather our evolution as a species. I didn’t think anybody could possibly mistake what I was saying there as I thought it was self-evident.
So you’ve clearly conflated and confused the concept of evolution as we are referring to it. Think about the evolution of computers within the last 20 years. That’s a more representative analogy of progress in boxing than what you are confused with.

I'm on a 12 year old laptop running a Celeron processor. What's changed with computers?

For me it’s your performance in this whole thread. Even after giving you a specific you refuse to contribute anything.

Yet he wonders why poster's cannot be bothered to address his ranting directly. Anyone who does not stoop to his level gets labeled a troll or some other stupid slang that a man in his 50's(Bandeedo) should have outgrown decades ago.

I simply have noticed alarming patterns of inconsistancy and underlying hostility with him that seem to have sent him over the edge in this thread.

give me 10 guys who you think would beat mikey in any division between 135 and 147 so we can establish the definition of world class.

The biology of an athlete is the same. The nutrition of an athlete is the same or at least so little improved as to make no difference to performance. The genetics of boxers definitely haven't changed. The hardware, the human body, remains the same.

If it were clearly evident then it wouldn't be in dispute. Your fact is still an unproven hypothesis.

Are you aware that people in America have gotten shorter over the last twenty years? I'd also float the possibility that perhaps the IQ tests are fundamentally flawed, or that what they measure is education level instead of intellect. I don't believe that people have actually gotten smarter for about a hundred thousand years. I think the focus of their intellects have changed. Ten thousand years ago tracking and flintknapping skills were in demand. Now, computer programming is. I'm eternally impressed by the ingenuity and resourcefulness of our forefathers. Some of their primitive technology life hacks are absolutely brilliant.

You said you think we are getting better, that everything gets better. I replied that human anatomy has stayed the same and our hardware is a limiting factor in the progress of the sport.

The computers from 20 years ago have had massive hardware upgrades. The people from 20 years ago have not.

people in America have gotten shorter because of the influx of shorter Hispanics coming into the country. the people already living here haven't seen their children being shorter than them. my son is 6'3"-6'4". i am 6'1".
