The problem Hear and co have got if they try to muscle in on the Youtube boxing money, is all that sidemen lot bar two are all privately educated from good money backgrounds, not your average boxer

Yeah I agree, the standard of boxing was actually quite shocking, but the buzz in the crowd, the build up, the way they produced the show was very good.

It was actually refreshing not to have a Sky Pundit talking cobblers throughout the show and I didn't have to watch and listen to Eddie Hearn telling me "KSI is the future of boxing.. trust me, this kid is a superstar".

I know, KSI himself looked confused, True Geordie had to explain it to him and the crowd LOL

    Bless Them

I have to say, we watch a lot of boxing and of course Sky Sports and now BT have millions to throw at the sport. The production and promotion is backed with large amounts of money.

Yet these youtubers have done a huge PPV event, huge numbers watched, huge promotion, selling lots of merchandise, got half the world talking and made a ridiculous amount of money with very little experience and expertise.

They have made it look very easy and have shown if you can promote yourself, sell yourself, tap in to the correct market and target the right people you can make a fortune.

The boxing was not impressive but the event as a whole was super impressive and has put a lot of UK promoters to shame in my opinion.

You’ve got to doff your cap to them. From what I know KSI was just a young lad recording himself playing FIFA, now he’s a millionaire and a PPV superstar. As a spectacle they’ve done unreal 10/10 for effort and achievement. I didn’t actually watch the event so can’t comment on the level of boxing. But there was no escaping this event, it was on the 6 o’clock news on TV, it was on the bbc website news homepage, it was on football forums I go on.

I said after the last one that Eddie and Frank can learn a lot from them. That was just the copper box and free to air from what I can remember? Now they’ve done a 20k arena and massive PPV numbers! This done bigger numbers than world title fights! Joshua v Martin and more impressively Klitschko v Fury!

Maybe we could have on the next card a couple from here having it off in the ring. :headbash

Which 2 on here have the biggest beefs with each other?

SR7 has to be one contender, surely? A shame that Blizzy is no longer here as he would certainly be a top contender.

    I agree completely.

I'm not sure on the PPV buys but I've read around 800k, so with my Big Shaq Quick Maths..

    £7.50 x 800,000 = £6 million.

So then you throw in ticket sales (21,000 attended) even stuff like drinks and food at the event, merchandise, advertising, endorsements and the other stuff and it's genuinely unbelievable for two youtubers who are bang average at best.

Here’s a question for you. Genuine question. Will Wilder v Fury do 800k UK buys?

At £7-50, of course it would.

At £20, probably not given it will most likely be a Vegas 5am (UK Time) bout.

Myself, I'll be watching it should it actually occur. Only ever payed for 4 PPVs in the past. PBF v Hatton, Bellew v Cleverly 2, AJ v Brezeale (think it was him) and GGG v Canelo. Was Paq v Hatton PPV? Might be 5 I've done then, can't remember if I watched it via PPV or found it on YouTube the following morning.

Think I'll stump up for GGG v Canelo 2 though. Too good a fight to miss given that I enjoyed the 1st fight.

Most boxers are from working class backgrounds so will be swayed by money and the shine of Hearn, that KSi and the Sidemen bar all about two of them are middle class privately educated from money backgrounds and don't need to jump if Hearn and someone similar says jump. They are far more astute as proven by what they've done themselves, bigger than boxing in most cases with Youtube. Whereas IE as an example someone likes Bellew acts like he owes his life to Hearn and Matchroom.

Article on BBC stating that over 1million illegally streamed the fight on other platforms for free.

So you've got almost 2 million watching a white collar boxing event. Insane.
