Rocky with an added 25lbs would be around 210/212lbs, the same as a modern cruiserweight. It's certainly nowhere near typical heavyweight levels. That isn't saying he couldn't compete there, but that he would still be in the realm of cruiserweight.

Fighters follow the money. There isn't any bigger money than HW so that's where Marciano would be.

Why don't more LHWs and CWs move up to HW then? I'm sure they all want the glory as well. At a certain point you have to be realistic, and a five foot eleven guy with narrowish shoulders and short arms who felt he competed best in the 180s isn't going to consider it the smartest move in the world to suddenly pack on forty pounds of muscle and fat to compete against men who'd not only dwarf him in physical dimensions but still outweigh him by around twenty pounds. Rocky was fearless but he wasn't an idiot.

    This.

I don't see him having serious trouble with any cruiser in history, including Usyk, except maybe for Holy, and even there, I would still make Marciano the slight favourite.

I think if he was fighting today, he would start out at cruiser and, upon cleaning it out, move to Heavy.

Yes, I expect to see Crawford, Spence, Canelo, and Golovkin all fighting there imminently.

Yeah I know, but Holyfield for instance fought At a very high level at around 215 against super heavyweights. And Marciano hit a lot harder.

I'm a huge fan of the current cruiserweight scene and I think many of those guys could run riot if they moved to HW tomorrow, so I'd certainly never rule out any effective 210/215lber. Wilder also fought his last fight at 215, and he's often considered a SHW.

You don't see him having any trouble with Usyk? I see him having major trouble with Usyk, especially over twelve rounds. I think he has his hands full with the likes of Gassiev, Lebedev and Briedis as well. Tons of very good fighters at that weight to think he just cleans it out with ease.

Wilder has the height but has not bothered to bulk up.

Even Lennox Lewis was in the low 220s for a lot of his fights and is one of the bigger successful shs, so how you train can make a big difference in your weight.

Marciano trained to be as light as possible. Restricted calories and a ton of road work on top of other training.

Probably cruiserweight to start his career and heavyweight later.

Cruiserweight. He might try heavyweight but at 5'10, 5'11 with a 68 inch wingspan he'd be too small no matter how much weigh he put on.

I agree with this .. People say he would follow the money but if he wasn't winning big fights there at HW .. He wouldn't last long .. He would be smart to be the popular, draw, winning fights champion at a lower weight

Wow...67 1/2" reach... the guy is a mutant. Even Mike Tyson, same height , had a 71" reach and that was always less than his opponents.

He only needed to put on four more pounds to fight at cruiser.
