Great find Red. The Cooper KO hardly warranted a blink of an eye but the Machen KO, for some reason, went completely under the radar for American audiences? We were too young then to appreciate the Ingo "approaching storm". Dad and Uncle Ray saw Patterson-London at the Fairgrounds in Indy in May 59 and Floyd fought Ingo a scant one month later?? My Korean vet boxing bud was there too and said Ingo was there (with his hot girlfriend) running around the ring taking pictures throughout the bout. I'll message you soon!
Apparently the Cooper fight was filmed, but it's said that after 4 boring rounds when nothing happened from either man the camera operator got bored and put his camera down, then the knockout happened and he missed it! How true it is I don't know, but quite a few of Ingo's fights from then are out there, but nothing of the Cooper fight.
Nearly right. We have film of the "action", but then the cameraman points his camera at people in the ringside seats. (Some of the royal family were there), and misses the knockout punch. We only have Cooper on the floor.
They fought outside and, in Henry's words, Ingo turned him around with his face to the sun and clocked him with the 'bingo' he never saw coming...who knows
