Did Haymon shelve Charlos and Spence for the rest of 2018?

Yet these two.....well three, were praised by 'Boxing fans' for turning down Hearn's offer of a minimum of 3 fights per year!

Spence is my favorite fighter in the sport....Why wouldn't I want him to sign with DAZN so I can actually watch him fight?

 

He sure did.

And Davis. And Hurd. And Lara. And Thurman. And Broner. And the Dirrells. And Santa Cruz.

Think Showtime have about 2 more dates left

 

Too expensive to let them fight more probably.

 

It would be absolutely astonishing if Spence took the rest of the year off.

Ocampo already had a comeback fight....

 

SHO budget stretches only so far.

This actually might be the reason. There are talks of Spence getting 3mil+ for each of his fights. A large chunk of that has to come from SHO.

 

I don't understand what the long term goal is for PBC and Haymon. Hyamon fighters are not getting the recognition they should be getting if they fought more often. The brand is good, the marketing seems great, but for the life of me why aren't they making their best fighters into stars or mega stars?

 

I know it’s perplexing to say the least,from what I can gather he has a set amount for each guy for the year and I’ve heard he pays em it all in one go so they don’t need to fight again for the year.
Not sure if this is the case with Spence but we seen it with Thurman and other Haymon guys.

 

Me too mate. I'm more an Al Haymon fan before I am a boxing fan. To me, Al Haymon is boxing.

The likes of Hearn, Arum, De La Hoya and Loffler don't know **** about boxing. They need to shelf their top stars and bring them out once a year, like Vince McMahon has proved with the success of The Undertaker and Triple H at Wrestlemania

 

We've always known this. It's been happening for years. Look at the Keith Thurman. He was on the verge of being a star, until people forgot about him. Most Haymon fighters seem to only fight max 2 times a year, especially if they make a lot of money.
