Maybe compared to Ali he was a bit oafish. But, I don't think too many other people who shared a ring with him felt that way. He was clearly a great athlete. And, an absolute physical specimen with extraordinary strength.

    Not comparatively to Ali.

Rather, just, would you consider him an oaf?

How could a top-5 all time heavyweight be an oaf? He may have looked a tad oafish at times but no Big George was no oaf:calimero1:

I am bias. He's one of my favs.

I think George Foreman had one of the better presence games. He was big and scary and could move men around the ring without doing anything but taking position and letting them figure out what they want to try to do then when they get balls enough to try something BOP big ol sledge hammer fist right in their face.

A hard punching and powerful oaf. But young Foreman actually did a lot of things right. He wasn't the fastest, but he was explosive in spurts and his technique wasn't all that bad when he paid attention to it. He had a great jab and could cut a ring off

Absolutely not. When I think of an oaf, I think of someone who doesn't move with purpose, isn't coordinated and has awful technique. To me, none of those descriptors apply to Foreman.

Oafs dont win gold medals with limited experience learning on the job. Oafs dont ko atgs 2 rounds a piece. He was very athletic and naturally strong with underrated skill and balance.

    No.

Foreman looked a bit clumsy because of his build and the way he let punches fly. But he had a sound jab, good uppercut, decent footwork and was a brutal finisher. Not the prettiest fighter but very effective.
