I'm highly offended to be called "less reasonable" than Farmy lol. Then again, it's coming from hard core GGG fans so that's not exactly surprising lmao.

Someone should make a thread "What does the term "rocked" mean to you".

There's so many examples, which one do I choose?

The uppercut with 20 seconds left in the 7th which "stopped GGG in his tracks" (Lampley quote)

The uppercut with 41 seconds left in the 8th. In terms of impact, that rocked him pretty good, but it certainly didn't deter GGG from maintaining composure and continuing to come forward.

You had the big Canelo right hand with 1:37 left in the 9th round.

Since yesterday I was told that "getting rocked" has more to do with the reaction of the fighter getting hit than the punch or the impact itself, with that in mind take a look at the one-two by canelo with 2:25 left in the 10th round. That right hand seemed to wobble GGG quite a bit, he tried to counter with an overhand right, but there was a delayed reaction from that punch that caused GGG to lose his balance and wobble off to his left before recovering.

There was a nice right hand with 2:42 left in the 12th round that came after a series of punches by Canelo that caused Gennady to pause and clinch.

There's so many candidates it's hard to choose !

Well GGG is the only one of the two that really got rocked in the first fight, and GGG was the one who said Canelo's power felt like slaps lol. Listen to the crowd and watch their reaction to those examples I time stamped. Usually a fighter getting rocked is accompanied by "oohs and aahs" from the crowd. You can literally see the crowd reacting to these shots and cringing at these punches Gennady absorbed!

 So in your world getting rocked = a good punch landed?

OK, then. We disagree on the basic premise.

No, of course not. There's landing a good punch, and there's getting rocked !

You only disagree on the premise of "getting rocked" so you can deny that Canelo rocked GGG lol.

That right hand didn't wobble GGG. He countered wildly and Clenelo deflected the shot w/ his arm. GGG was torquing his shot in the direction. It was momentum at work, not wobbling.

Go back a page, I had the same ridiculous argument with him and it came down to "well only GGG fans say saying that". Honestly, someone needs to put a muzzle on that guy. What he writes is basically Canelo fan fiction

    :risas3:

    Of course it didn't wobble GGG. GGG . . . he just sort of lost his balance . . . it was just . . . um . . . momentum . . . uhh yeah that was momentum and errr . . . GGG torquing himself . . . you know in that direction . . .

In fairness, though, what you said did happen, by the way that was a beautiful parry by Canelo, that whole sequence was just marvelous by Canelo. However part of that could very well of had to do with a delayed reaction from that right hand. It was probably a combination of those two events : the right hand landing and GGG feeling a need to quickly try and counter to show he wasn't hurt by it, but there being a delayed reaction with him not having his feet under him, and Canelo being ready for it.

I brought that one up because of what PaddyGarcia said yesterday about how being rocked had more to do with the reaction of the fighter who got hit than the impact of the punch itself. (which is hard to see due to the angle) One way or another though, GGG was affected by that right hand. You look at the way GGG threw that wild counter, it was poor technique and feeling a sense of urgency to even up the exchange after being tagged. And Canelo like the high level technician he is parried that and GGG lost his balance.

It's right there for you to see, troll. Golovkin swings and Clenelo deflects the punch pushing it towards the same direction. Clearly a balance issue. You're looking for things that aren't there. Sense of urgency to even up the exchange? That would have to come after a break in action. It was the same sequence of action.

This happens to Pac a lot, too. Due to his size, being light on his feet, Pac constantly is thrown back and off balance from punches that get blocked.

Now you're just getting downright bitter. "Someone needs to put a muzzle on that guy"? Really? That's the best you could come up with. What is wrong with you : how about you grow the hell up and learn to talk boxing.

There's nothing fiction about what I post on here. I'm calling it right down the middle, and if you have a problem with what I'm saying then debate me on it and lets have at it. It's in poor taste to resort to namecalling and cringeworthy comments like this, and it's revealing that obviously my points are getting to you or wouldn't be so threatened by what I'm saying. I said yesterday that I have no problem with debate and disagreements, but have some self respect for yourself and for others who may not see everything exactly like you do.

That's poor technique. Throwing a punch with good technique should never cause you to lose your balance like that. The fact that it came right after what appeared to be a hard right hand from Canelo is telling.

Unsurprisingly, in your quest to defend GGG at all costs, you're not gonna admit that it was a delayed reaction from the right hand. But the right hand definitely had an effect on GGG right there, either in causing him to feel an instinctual need to throw a quick right hand to try and even up the exchange, or as a delayed reaction from the punch combined with having the punch parried. Again if his feet were under him with good technique, having the right hand get parried wouldn't have caused him to lose his balance. So obviously his legs weren't under him normally otherwise he wouldn't have lost his balance from a parry like that. All Canelo did was literally stick his left glove up to meet GGG's well choreographed right hand.

Here is your opportunity to complement on what Canelo did right there. Forget about fighting with me for a second, why don't you just say "ya know shadow, that was an impressive punch & move by Canelo there, that right hand and parry were a thing of beauty". Can you say that or do you only comment when GGG does something good?

Canelo was more rocked than Gramma in her favourite rocking chair with a cat on her lap, then.
