Why is Godoy needing to go the distance with Campolo though? Campolo suffered a crushing knockout against Carnera then recovers to outpoint Arturo Godoy?

Either Campolo was good or both Campolo and Godoy were total rubbish together.

Campolo wasn't good and ,as I speculated it might have been home cooking.

Sonny Liston was “very much mob controlled” too.

Can you name any top fighter from that era, who did not have some sort of links to organised crime?

Yeah, I mean, it's not like there's a rivalry between Argentina and Chile, is there? LOL

As far as I am aware, the decision was strongly protested by Godoy. Not that it was going to help him much, there.

Also - it might be fair to say that Godoy was not really coming into his best level, at that point. He was only 21 and a report I have seen indicates he only weighed in at 182lbs - to Campolo's 249lbs.

Home Cooking? Godoy fought in Buenos Aires at least 30 times, he fought there more times there than he ever did in Chile. More times than Campolo did. Luna Park was Godoys home from home. Any home cooking would be served to both boys.

How many bad fighters lasted 12 rounds with Arturo Godoy?

Primo Carnera is the only undisputed heavyweight champions not in the hall of fame

Despite scoring 71 kos, carnera did not make top 100 punchers of all time list

    Why is this?

Because he was a mobbed controlled circuis clown who regularly took part in fixed fights.

On film, he looks absolutely dreadful. Like he only received a few technical boxing classes and then his management threw him out their as a commodity to trick the public that they found the next King Kong of boxing

You are not looking to downgrade Arturo Godoy by any chance are you?

Arturo had at least 30 fights by that time. A lot of world champions were fighting for titles after less fights than that.

    It is a good question.

He absolutely should be in the Hall of Fame based on his record, and frankly I am not sure that him being a mob controlled fighter who took part in fixed fights, would be a good justification for making him the sole exception!

In some ways his notoriety strengthens his case!

No. I am looking at reasonable explanations, which you're either too lazy or too incompetent to explore yourself.

Can you name another that has a string of fixed fights laid at his door?

That is if his record is kosher.I would say the reason he isn't in there is for the same reason he isn't in any list of greatest punchers though his ,"on paper stats," are wonderfuly impressive!
Can you offer any other reasonable explanation for his exclusion from both?

There is no evidence available to the people who excluded him, that is not available to us, so why would I read anything into their decision?
