TBE was a catchy marketing phrase by the best marketed boxer in the history of the sport. It helped him earn a fortune. I wouldn't get so hung up on it if I were you. Some people buy into it, so what? The vast majority, like you and me, don't...

Nobody believes that ****. I don't even have him ranked in the top 10 ATG list. He's the best fighter of the era who would be great in any era nothing more.

Folk accuse me of hating Floyd I don't hate him I just have no respect for him. I actually feel sort of sorry for him. He had the God Given boxing talents to REALLY be one of TBE in the game.
Instead he took the offered easy route & became the Vegas cash cow. The NSAC & Vegas boxing made sure he had every advantage in every fight both legal & illegal. He got so that he wouldn't entertain fighting elsewhere.he knew he;d always :win: in Vegas. He could have been ranked alongside Ali & Robinson as one of the best ever it was his own fault that he is not

Interesting and I understand your point, but the same could be said of Baltimore. The vast majority of the crime is concentrated towards the inner city. The further you get to the city-county line the less dangerous it gets. North Baltimore and the Harbor area is pretty safe. Davis comes from West Baltimore in the neighborhood of Sandtown. Which is where Freddie Gray is from and where the riots occurred.

I've never been to Chicago, but I can tell you that statistically that West Baltimore is more dangerous than the South Side of Chicago. Now I've been watching the news, but I've read the articles and the stats. And what they say is West Baltimore is America's most dangerous place to be.

If West Baltimore was it's own city it's murder rate would dwarf South Chicago. Now I know Chicago is violent as well, but those are the numbers.

I doubt it first West Baltimore doesn't have the gang culture and history like South Side Chicago does GDs BDs Stones Vice Lords Latin Kings all on top of each other sometimes separated by a single block. It is further made worse by the Chicago Drill Music scene which is like gangsta rap x10 that fuels the gang members and the youth of that side of town.

Gervonta will go the way of Gamboa and Rigo if he's not careful.

Baltimore has systemic issues that have killed the city. It was a top 2 to top 8 city population wise for over a century. It was a major port city that relied on manufacturing and that kind of economy. Then the economy shifted to an information economy. The jobs were gone, MLK was assassinated. The whites left for the suburbs, draining the tax base. The school system failed, they cannot even keep open because they can't even fund the heating system. Absentee fathers is an epidemic problem and the politicians are corrupt.

Baltimore is not a glorified city. They haven't produced famous people or famous organizations. It's not a club town or party town. They're pretty much known for crabs, Ray Lewis and the Wire. And the Wire does a great job of illustrating the systemic failures of the city actually.

If you go to kid in Baltimore today and ask him to stop selling drugs it's like telling a wounded man to stop bleeding. What other jobs are there?

    Different kind.
Floyd was confident and he knew his place. He knew he had to work up the ladder.
    Davis is a bit different.
