who did he fight as an Amateur?? was he successfull?? cause i cant remember him from the Olympics or world Championships..
What do you reckon Martins best fighting weight would be Billy, around 17.7st ? Seen Eddie Hearn reckons he is currently a top 10 heavyweight in the world, do you think he regrets not signing him ?
What an intriguing fight. Fantastic to see a full card of competitive action as well,ChanCam the P4P women’s no 1 has an opponent lined up for an IBO defence,Lee Mcgregor fights the teak tough Thomas Essomba for the commenwealth in just his 5th pro fight and Chris Billam Smith steps up v Robin Dupre who looked good but too small in defeat v Luke Watkins. One thing old Bazza does exceptionally well is matchmake.
Some very knowledgable guys I know rate Hunter highly from his am days, this is a serious test for Bakole.
Hunter is a really good fight for Bakole. He was HW at AM and did pretty well, though not to the level of an Olympian or anything like that. He just stopped Kiladze at HW who isn't a contender in any way shape or form but he's not a total can either. He won some early rounds of Usyk but lost quite clearly. This was at a time when Usyk seemed to start quite slow.
I’m knowledgeable and I rate him, saying that I believe martinis capable of beating anyone in the world
how did the sparring go between Martin, AJ and Kabayal Billy? any stories? how do you think AJ will do against povetkin?
I’d be interested to learn a little about how this fight came together,if you wouldn’t mind? Did you or McGuigan choose him out a number of options? Did Hunters team sound you out? Because it’s a fight I didn’t expect to see i must admit.
Hunter has been to London before & fought at the 2012 Olympics for the US in the heavyweight division. He fought to a draw with Artur Beterviev (who was a very well credentialed amateur) but lost on countback. It's going to take genuine skill to dismantle him. Not just brute force & power. Not the type of opponent I would be feeding to an up & comer.
