I was watching a film study on this fight and I was amazed by each fighters ring IQ, I have never seen a middleweight fight as technical as this can you think of any? Maybe one of Robinson`s or somebody?

how can anything be defined like that? So many fights at middleweight history. Hopkins fought technically. All the greats did. Hagler.

Technically it was a fight, and technically it was at Middleweight. Let's end it there, as both @CST80 and @PernellSweetPea shot this down with their example and comment.

No it's not. Have you ever seen James Toney vs Mike McCallum 1-2, Marvin Hagler vs Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler vs Roberto Duran... GGG vs Canelo is probably not even Top 15.

Not the MOST technical but it was a very nuanced fight.

It was too technical. Boxing Canelo instead of brawling him is why Golovkin didn't get the win.

Plus, you know, cause of the most corrupt scorecard in PPV history.

    Hagler Duran
    Toney McCallum
    Several others...

If these mediocre film studies are an incredible revelation to you, you probably didn't understand much about boxing to begin with.

We have never seen Golovkin gas out, if he brawls Canelo the whole fight or even 6 rounds, will he gas out?

Hagler never met a fighter as technical as him except Leonard, but both men were a bit past it then and the fight with Hearns had great in-fighting moves but it was far more reckless than Canelo vs GGG and Hopkins didn`t meet anyone at this level, his bout with Jones was dreadful and Calzaghe met him at light heavy, Taylor was overrated and lucky according to many that watched his less than great bouts vs Taylor.

No way could Duran match Canelo at middle, he was very good vs Marvin but not great, the scoring reflected this his reach was even shorter than Canelo`s I think.

Hagler was way slower than these two vs Leonard.

This bout had shades of Pernell vs Chavez except GGG fought much better as a pressure fighter than Julio did at welter v Whitaker.
