Imagine in 10-15 years time when Wilder's hardcore fans look back and try to make a case for him being "elite" or a "top H2H heavyweight" or deciding who would win in a fantasy match-up ...

"but he beat Luis Ortiz doe"

If he beats Fury, he'll be about on par with Bowe assuming Fury doesn't come in at 300 pounds. If he gets one other good win (a top 5 guy), not including Joshua, he'll probably be ahead of Bowe. If he beats Joshua, he'll easily be top 15, arguably top 10.

So you have Joshua top 15, arguably top 10 right now then?

You need to do some serious studying of the HW divisions history, my friend.

    No, you do.

Whenever I see your username, it reminds me of that night I spent at Radio City Music Hall watching Donaire get schooled.

I don't follow that assumption at all. Anyone who cleans out the other champions of their era is at least top 15, probably top 10. Dempsey, Foreman, Frazier, and Holmes didn't do that .

So Wlad and Vitali are top 15 by virtue of them clearing out the other Champions which were not siblings?

Don't get the point of this thread.

Riddick Bowe was an undisputed champion and retired with a record of 43-1 despite being lazy and consistently showing up out of shape. Bowe stopped a Prime Holyfield while Lennox in two fights struggled with an old and past prime version of Holyfield.

Wlad is generally considered to be at the bottom of the top 10 and Vitali is around 15. Wilder will definitely pass Vitali on resume if he beats Joshua and Fury.

I severely doubt Wilder could ever be compared to Bowe.

    Holyfield -Stiverne
    Golota - Szpilka
    Hide - Arreola
    Donald - Washington
    Dokes - Molina
    Coetzer - Duhuapas

    Bowe - Wilder? GTFOH

I understand the comparison, but these 2 are on vastly different spectrums.

If he fights and beats Fury and then never fights AJ, that might be a good analogy. Right now he's not at the Bowe level because he doesn't have the signature win Bowe had, even though the rest of his resume is actually better than Bowes at this point. Of course, it could equally apply to AJ. If Wilder beats Fury, there won't be much daylight between either aj or wilders resume. So if they don't face each other, we'll have to see who looks more to blame. Or, see if one or the other winds up putting much more distance from the other in resume.

Good argument between the two of you. I mostly agree with the general way you see it in terms of ATG ranking. I would say that if Wilder beats Fury and AJ, he probably is around top ten, but it would depend on how the rest of his career goes. He could wind up in the top 5 or wind up lower than Bowe, depending on how he looks the rest of his career.

He's taking care of the real lineal champ first. No one else matters! He knows what's up. If he fought everyone else and won, many fools would claim that Fury is still the real heavy weight champ. After he beats Fury(not a sure thing) He will be considered the real champ because he beat the man that beat the man. Makes sense no? You'll catch on and get to understand this sport. You are still a newbie, you got a lot to learn.
