So nobody wants to talk about PBCs 3 year showtime extension and potential fox deal?

Looks like Charlo's and Spence are going to be spending more DaysInn.

I'm still struggling to understand how these guys are making the kind of money they need to, in order to reject offers from Hearn.

Vargas/Charlo were both on the same card card....And both got paid $500k.

One decided to stick with Al and is yet to fight again.
Vargas decided to go to DAZN and is headlining a card in October.

I just don't get it, it makes no sense.

    Blind loyalty.
PBC always delivers something, be it an opportunity or money.
But there are numerous setbacks. The biggest being inactivity.

Haymon is just as focused on in-house-fights and protecting a young, vulnerable, and/or major cash cow fighter as any other promoter. Some could easily point to being more so, with inability to get them in the ring pushing the needle that way.

I still liked boxing being on CBS/Spike/Fox/etc. over the past few years but too few and far between and too many cards that were a legitimate waste for the occasion. Like Hearn's op, I hoped it worked for the sake of seeing good fights. Sort of doesn't seem that way at all, however.

    I get that....100%.

But is the cash cow of US boxing now a guy who generates $500k a fight?

The Charlo's could be stars, but Haymon couldn't be doing a worse job at making them so.

Well, we've had four unification bouts over the past year and a half. Outside of the WBSS, no one else has matched that output.

They're both likely to fight twice a year, which more or less matches the activity of most major fighters these days.

I don't get what there is to rave about with this new deal. PBC fighters are already pretty much exclusive to showtime. You've got exclusive deals with Golden Boy on HBO, Top Rank on ESPN, Matchroom on DAZN, and PBC on Showtime. Sounds like a shitty situation for the fans.

    Joshua v Klitschko
    Joshua v Parker
    Burnett v Zhakiyanov
    Andrade v BJS
    Taylor v Bustos

Still 4 if you 'Don't count women'.

Hater? **** you, i was here defending PBC for years. They had a great beginning, did solid ratings and i loved PBC on Spike.
Got any links to the ESPN deal?

All i got is what Dan Rafael has said and Michael Montero. Montero stated that PBC did not hold up their end of the bargain so ESPN bailed.

Haymon is a smart guy IMO. The best way to launder money is PBC:afro:
Anyways he started out the gate with some WWF entrances and a cool set up but I found FREE boxing ment I had to have over 250 channels from my provider to get up with where the next fight would be televised:babeando:
Maybe he had a side deal with cable company :cheeseburger: so you had to keep expanding your station selection
Any boxing, even the DANZ, is better than no boxing :cheer:

In most cases the verified paydays for PBC fighters are supplemented with another unspecified payment which in some cases is 7 figure amounts. This was the case in the recent fights for Mikey, Spence, and Broner.

Andrade vs BJS hasn't happened, and wouldn't be a unification bout anyway.
Wlad wasn't holding a title, though the WBA strap was on the line in additional to the IBF belt AJ was holding. But two belts on the line, so technically it counts.

So, three (or 4 counting Taylor vs Bustos). Either way, PBC holds their own in this regard.

I wanted PBC to do well hoping it could help the sport return to former glory but it ended up seeming like a union scam in which Uncle Al have his fighters no work or no show jobs in exchange for a cut of their wages.

If that changes and they start making good fights then great but my initial optimism for PBC checked out a while back. It's up to them to make me and the likes of me - boxing fans - excited about their fights again.
