Shakiel has recently turned pro and will compete at Middleweight. Shakiel's debut will be 12 Oct on Bomber Pomotions first card, with Adam Etches being his manager. As an amateur Shakiel had a lot of success and boxed some very good amateurs, who will go on to do big things in the pro ranks themselves. Shakiel showed the ability to outbox opponents using the height, reach and skill, but also the ability to pressure and stop opponents with his power when necessary Here's a small highlight vid Bomber Promotions shared on twitter: This content is protected Take a look and see what you think. Will the height, awkwardness, power and boxing ability be too much for people to handle? I'll be updating this thread as his pro career goes on..
Haha, it isn't from that, think it is from Sheffield (where he's from) being known as Steel City sometimes. But who knows..
Shakiel made his debut last night and secured a 46 second KO win, in front of A sold out crowd on Etches first show. Horrible body shot and the opponent couldn’t recover from it. Shakiel has a nasty body shot which has hurt ppl in sparring and dropped many during his amateur career. Of course in your first few pro fights, this was expected, I just don’t think many expected it to be so early Here’s a video of the fight: https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/box...l-thompson-and-a-win-for-waleed-din-1-9395293 Also here Shakiel feature on a Behind the Gloves interview with Brook (I dunno how to timestamp but it’s at 8 mins): This content is protected
Shakiel ‘Dr Steel’ Thompson will be live on Sky Sports tonight on the Kell Brook undercard, boxing in his second pro fight He is a live float and will box anytime after 7pm Keep a look out!
Shakiel went 2-0 (2KOs) with a 3rd round stoppage last night on the Brook card: This content is protected
Someone's been watching GGG with that tap tap combo followed by a high angle hook to temple/top of the head
Just needs to be careful pawing that lead right hand, but other than that I like him and he looks a good prospect.
Shakiel Thompson is set to return on the Frank Warren card on 27th April at Wembley Park Arena which will be live on BT Sport
