Yea his natural testosterone levels were probably off the charts.
Can't believe how weak of a puncher he was considering his size and muscle mass.

Probably the most impressive physique in boxing ever. Imagine if he were juiced up like Holyfield? :D

You know he fractured his ankle during the first knockdown, right?

If you want to see his defense in form, I'd watch the Uzcudun fight.

A better protection on investment possibly?
Or maybe they were betting on the outcome for specific rounds?

That's if the fixed fights are true, or if there were as many as some say there were.
There are a lot of unknowns here.

What we do know is that he gave Baer a hell of a fight with a fractured ankle, and lasted 6 rounds with Louis. He won the title from Sharkey and defended it twice.

How could a fraud last 6 rounds with the greatest finisher of all time?
If he didn't belong in that ring, he shoulda been outta there in 30 seconds.
He disposed of B Baer in 1 round, which shows that Louis had no problem ending it early with a big man. It's not like Carnera was running from him either.

Plenty of mediocre fighters lasted rounds with foreman and Tyson who were incredible finishers as well but that doesn't prove much at all.

The argument isn't about carnera being a complete fraud/bum. There is alot of room and several levels between Bowe level and complete fraud, it's not either/or. Primo wasn't Butterbean or Peter McNeeley but he sure as hell wasn't Riddick Bowe or Lennox Lewis either.

You can be a hell of a lot worse than Bowe and still somehow go 6 rounds with a great fighter you outsize by several inches and 60 lean pounds.

I didn't find Baer vs carnera to be anywhere near competitive enough to call it a hell of a fight. Maybe a hell of a beating and a hell of a pain tolerance to take it that long.

And the fact that with all of these physical advantages, a record that suggest devastating KO power and the experience of having been HW champ he still couldn't make his fights vs Louis and Baer atleast close and contentious, just proves my point that he wasn't very good.

I don't understand why you're so quick to make it personal?
I could go tit for tat, and say that you said this and that.
But why rehash old stuff and go this route?

Why are decent people so quick to throw hate at one another over their differences in boxing opinions?
    What's driving this?

Good point. There’s absolutely nothing to be gained by rehashing past quarrels.

It is clearly a contentious issue...

    ...Oh, wait!

    100-9-4 (for Bowe)

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but I'd hazard a guess that the point is to put the other newer thread and it's dreamers in their place. It's a rather compelling vote count.

    101-9-4 now.
