Sanders won a belt at least and defeated a future HoF, Ortiz never won crap.

I've been watching Sanders fights all day today.

With what's going on in South Africa at the moment it got me thinking of him, very exciting but flawed fighter.

Sanders was a good fighter but he was more flawed than Ortiz and very inconsistent. I don't think Ortiz is overrated, nobody thinks he is an ATG level fighter or something like that, he is just a very good fighter, not a great one and certainly not ATG level but he is a very good fighter.

Agree about Sanders, I think Ortiz is better than him. And yes Ortiz is a good fighter, I think he'd be a contender in most era's. When I say overrate I should have said that people tend to build a mythos around him that he was avoided and is some boogeyman, which isn't the case. People said the same about Sanders when I think about it too, that Lewis ducked him and never fought a southpaw for a reason which isn't even true.

I don't think anybody is genuinely afraid of him, that is just exaggerating for the fun of it, he is mostly "avoided"
because he is high risk and low reward, why fight Ortiz when you can fight a guy like Breazeale for the same
    money.

Lewis never ducked anyone as far as i'm concerned.

Sanders lost to Rahman on HBO which led to Rahman knocking out Lewis in South Africa. It’s Sanders’ (and Rahman’s) fault that he wasn’t the one fighting Lewis on that night.

I can't speak for Bowe's opposition, but I can for Holyfield's. Grandpa Larry Holmes, and grandpa George Foreman would have whooped grandpa Luis Ortiz's sorry ass! Please Deontay! Rematch him again so you can put him into the old pension home permanently this time, lol.

As ludicrous as it seems I actually could see Holmes and Foreman then giving Ortiz now real problems even beating him.

Holmes was durable as phuck only Tyson stopped him which considering he fought into his 50's is damn impressive. Even a durable guy like Ray Mercer became more fragile as he aged. A 42 year old Holmes might very well have the skills to pull of a decision against a fighter as slow and as one paced as Ortiz.

Foreman again very durable and he hit as hard as anyone and he had that right hand that Ortiz is so open for. I could see a 42 year old Foreman KOing Ortiz. He beat Briggs at 48 on most people scorecards and Ortiz would be a stationary target and not move like Schulz who should of gotten the decision vs Foreman.

Bowe does not have a great cv, but all we hear about is how great that era was.

It would help if "Louis Ortiz" existed, first of all.

Ortiz would have won a belt during the k2 era easily. I know that because Corrie Sanders who has a similar style to Ortiz blitzed Wlad in 2 rounds.
Wlads struggle with Tony Thompson who is a slower lighter hitting Ortiz backs that theory up even further.

Um he's been a pro since 2010, that's part of K2 era and he never won anything.
Even a bum like Stiverne won a belt, lmao!
