He's the real deal and the future of boxing. I want full credit years from now when he becomes p4p top 3.
Well well well, look who comes crawling back to the forum trying to pretend he is a good boy, lol Be good this time around and you won’t get your bottom spanked you naughty weasel.
Kingry is an even bigger bum, he makes Haney look like the future GOAT. Shakur is a legit talent, depends on how he's brought along and what he's made of once real pros start throwing hands at him...in other words, jury's out but he looks the goods based on his amateur and pro run so far. Who is Conlan? There's dozens of Irish prospects in the pipeline every year getting hyped to hell and like 80-90% of them end up going bust and they all have the same four or five surnames. I'm pretty sure there have been like twenty Irish prospects named Conlan in the last decade. I can hardly be expected to keep track . Be specific please.
But Haney's pro run has been far more impressive than Shakurs. And I don't know if you're attempting to be funny but I'll play along. Michael Conlan. If Haney beats Burgos(a guy who got robbed by Rocky Martinez), would your opinion change? What does he have to accomplish for you to recognize his talent?
I've only seen a few fights from each, and Shakur despite some growing pains passed the eye test for me better than Haney and seems like his own wrinkles are things that'll likely be easier to iron out with more experience. And no I was being dead serious. You could have said "Jamie/Mick/Seamus/Hornswoggle Conlan" and I'd have been like 'ok yeah sounds legit'. I don't obsess over the sport 24/7 and nerd out over catching every match like I used to. I have a lot more blind spots now in terms of comings and goings. But the name Devin Haney has stuck in my head, I remember flagging him as a surefire KTFO waiting to happen. Just a flashy showboat IIRC. Kid ain't no ATG in the making, will be lucky to win more than a world title fight or two and go down as a paper champ.
What's your opinion on Conlan though. Rate the 4 prospects I mentioned in order from who you think will have the most succesful career to least. I don't think he's a flashy showboat. He used extremely good footwork and his jab was on point against Menard. Now Menard is not good so I won't really give him much credit for that. But surely if he beats Burgos impressively he gets some credit right?
Dude, I told you, I'm not sure I've even seen "Michael Conlan" fight. As for Haney taking on Miniburgos and getting credit...uh, no, dude. Miniburgos was a very solid contender for a period of like nine to five years ago. Until glancing at BoxRec just now I wasn't even aware he had in fact fought again after losing to MAG in 2014. Three victories at a low level. Ehh. No. Not much credit, sorry.
