Amir Khan has stated today that even if loses on the 15th his legacy will still be in tact!

It’s not as much just getting hit hard,he was running onto punches.

 

His legacy is not much. He didn't fight great fights where he won when he shouldn't have..

 

Another brutal KO loss would even enhance his legacy in a lot of boxfans eyes, I think.

 

I lol'd but then I stopped to consider if you were being serious and realised you're actually right.

 

As a new fully fledged Khan fan (I joined last week), Khan is correct, he has achieved more than most and will always have the belts and Olympic medal regardless of what the haters say.

 

He certainly has a justified legacy among his ethnic group (can I type Pakistani?)
but not so much within the history of boxing. Too many brutal KO's. I don't care about
his silver medal; that's not pro boxing so who cares? And before I get jumped on, I don't
care about GGG's or Lomo's amateur careers....this is pro boxing we're talking about.

Khan's poor defense and recovery abilities are his main weakness, and make his chin look worse than it actually is. Don't get me wrong, his chin is bad, but his recovery ability is abysmal. Just look at the Maidana and Garcia fights to see what I mean.

 

If Dustin Nichols loses his next fight, his legacy will still be intact.

 

His medal and title wins are a great accomplishment and he did have a good name, but I don't know about this whole legacy thing. He's not really an important fighter historically

 

True enough and you can say the same re his losses in as much as he lost badly to guys he should of beat.
It’s annoying as I followed all his fights and after his first loss it was like watching the same fight over n over as Amir Khan ain’t the brightest guy around.
Rough breakdown would be he’d nearly always outbox his opponents and quite often look like a God only to get carried away by his own speed and then walk onto something big,his partnership with creepy Virgil Hunter did nothing to address the above and stem the flow of losses.
Re his inactivity I never realised that after the Canelo knockout as an example he was under doctors orders to stay away from any immediate boxing and future head trauma so bad was his KOs lol.
All that said I am a fan of the guy as he’s certainly exciting to watch and I love it after all these years if he could win a proper world title.

Lol he’ll go down in history as the epitome of what it means to be a glass jaw,just ask any boxing fan about Grade A China or glass jaws and Amir Khan will always be the first that comes to mind so in a way he has built up a legacy but just not as he’d of hoped lol

 

I always said his speed was the best and if he just had a gameplan and followed it he could have been one of the greatest ever. Put Bernard Hopkins mind in Amir or Tyson Fury and he would do great, but he like Jermaine Taylor take speed and just win rounds and then forget about gameplan and get hit on the chin. I thought he would learn like guys who were great who this happened to like Hearns, who could go for the brawl, but also held on and eventually modified his style to win. Khan did not modify and even after many years he still managed to make the same mistakes and get knocked out. With that speed there was no excuse to not be a great fighter.

 

So true,if he only had a natural boxing brain to avoid punishment he’d of been one of the best as he always outboxes his opponents for the first three,four rounds.Garcia himself said he was in a whirl against Khan up until the inevitable happened.
I get that he never sustained any wins Long enough to deserve a shot at Floyd but still it would of been something to see if only to see how Floyds boxing brain was superior.
