    Hello

Did anyone think that there was something not quite right about Robinson’s second round KO of Bobo Olson?

I don’t see a clear knockout punch and the way Olson fell backwards always seemed slightly odd to me.

I’ve no doubts about the knockout in their fourth match, though.

Nothing suss to me. It was a volley of lightning fast blows and more than one caught him that's for sure. I have a feeling that left uppercut connected cleanly which may have been the concluder.

My sense was that Robinson had landed a right hook to the temple in that barrage, which took the legs out of Olsen; the left uppercut sending him backwards and over to finish the job.

Agree completely. That right hand you are talking about landed i believe.

A great piece of action, too. When he was an old man.

Nothing suspicious. He hit him with a great combo and had buzzed him with a left hook moments earlier.

Just watched it again. Their is nothing "suspicious" about that K.O. Just 4-5 amazingly accurate punches thrown in a incredibly fast combination being filmed by antiquated cameras when filming was still in its infancy.

Olson was a 3-1 favorite.....(and had gone 15 rds with SRR 3 years before). But SRR, being the gentleman he was, gave Bobo a return match 5 months later in 1956, and basically duplicated the '55 k.o.

1955-12-09 : Sugar Ray Robinson 159¾ lbs beat Bobo Olson 159¼ lbs by KO at 2:51 in round 2 of 15

"Robinson became the first boxer to regain the World Middleweight Title"

????? Tony Zale. And Robinson himself in 1951.

    Nothing suspicious.

two left hooks in that flurry appeared to do the damage. The first stunned Olson and more or less made him a target. The second sent him down. I can't really see any rights landing well but they came so fast, perhaps. But the two lefts were enough anyway.
