Ive been reading and reading, youtubing and youtubing and like everybody else ive drawn up some conclusions on the saga that is Joshua v Wilder. I believe both Wilder and Joshua 100% want the fight. Neither of them are ducking the other but at the same time neither of them are willing to give up what they feel they deserve from a contract to the fight. Im blaming the promoters, managers of the fighters much more than im blaming the fighters themselves but like i said, reading and youtubing i can only come to the conclusion that Shelley Finkel has ruined all chances of this fight getting made soon. Its the desicions he has taken and the things that he has said that have left most of the question marks, 24 hour deadlines, not wanting to talk to Hearn about it, big offers that dont come on paper so the rival promoter or fighter can look ever the terms. You know, all that stuff. And when you look back its Finkel who was quick to move Wilder away from Klitchko as soon as his name was mentioned and then you look at Wilders resume in general. This is the resume of a massivly protected fighter. He is in Wilders ear telling him what he should and shouldnt be doing to the point where Wilder is concinved and has allowed Finkel to hide Wilder from challenges and the fame and riches he could be getting. In short Wilder needs to get away from Finkel, he is holding him back. September could be fight month for AJ v Wilder but Finkel put a stop to that before it had even got going. Im sure Hearn could of done better with some of his weak contracts for Wilder but it seems a hell of alot more effort than Finkel has done and Finkel has done wierd suspicious things at all times regarding Eddie Hearn or the Joshua fight. Finkel is a time served Boxing manager and knows how to do his job but has done everything ver strange and different in claiming to try to make this Joshua fight rather than sticking to the tried and tested ways hes always done business. Infact for Finkel this isnt even about Wilder Joshua anymore this is now about Hearn v Finkel. Hes not looking to make any Joshua fight he is just setting about trying to make Eddie Hearn look bad. Deontay needs to get away from this turd and get somebody who can promote him properly and speak to him like an adult rather than getting fed crap and lies all the time.
I’m in agreement with the fact that both guys have thrown away opportunities to make the fight. However we do know AJ was offered what he asked for and he went back on his word and turned it down.
Christ you still holding him to that. 1, he said it thinking it was a joke, they called his bluff and he turned it down. 2, they needed more details than just the money and Finkel wouldnt give it to them. To this day they never saw the contract or anything else written down on paper. No emails, no paper work just the 1 verbal offer with all other terms witheld. Witholding terms and conditions would set anybodys alarms bells off. But Joshua was offered what he asked for and he got his pants pulled down about it, fool on him. But all that was was trickery to make it look like Joshua was ducking. The more details come out about their offer to AJ the more the deal looks worse. Not that AJ or Eddie ever got to see it. Only Frank Warren which isnt guna get the deal done.
Sorry that they made his joke a reality. He didn’t ask for any conditions but the money, if he said I want 50 mil plus this, this and that. No all he said was give me 50 mil I’ll fight you.
Oh so in the middle of an interview Joshua laughed and said "they think this fight makes so much then give me 50 and i will fight". Because he said that in the middle of an interview then surely thats all he needs. Joshua doesnt need to be told about any other detail of a multi million Dollar contract because he didnt ask for it in a Youtube interview. Thats so weak man ofcourse he would more than just the money offer as would every other major Boxer in the history of the sport. Its such a weak thing to be latching on to, its just not how Boxing works, especially at that level when that much money is being talked about and belts are on the line. Its just exactly how Finkel has wanted people to see it though and im surpised people like you have fallen for it.
Shirley Winkle hasn't been relevant since the 80s When I seen his face recently I was like ****ing hell, old shirley still going is he!
Wilder did the same thing though he agreed to all the terms of the contract including the $15 mill he was to be paid but then changed his mind saying he wanted 50/50. Both have back tracked on previously agreed terms.
I don’t know if he was serious or not but you have to admit he dropped the ball when he made that comment. I think AJ would have taken the 50 mil tbh coz when the offer is as mad public he said let’s get it on and he had an interview where he said he was training for Wilder. I think his people around him talked him out of it.
He said no to the 15 mil once he was told he wouldn’t get the rematch in the US which was originally agreed. After that he started asking for 50-50 coz he was probably fed up.
Wilder has more leeches hanging off him than a dead cat at the bottom of the creek. Is it any wonder he never gets paid and cant get a big fight? When you look at the half a dozen dinosuars behind him its a who's who of how to screw over fighters over the last half century.
Also Wilder and Finkel got to see every single detail of Eddies deal because he gave them a draught contract followed by a real contract which detailed everything other than the venue and date but both those things were near enough sealed. Hearn and Joshua got to see nothing in that other offer. But Finkel and Wilder held on to that contract, mucked around and dragged their feet, said they had questions but didnt ask the questions and then as soon as Hearn went to Povetkin they came back moaning saying they were happy with it and calling it a duck. Ive seen those tricky tactics before in this sport more than once they just trying to shift blame to give the impression the other side are running. So they got out of signing it for September by waiting until Povetkin got done and Now that contract that they were happy with and was about to sign is now a disgrace of a contract, its the same contract but its now dated and with venue. So now its there to be signed for a 2nd time they are not wanting to sign it again. But Finkel being tricky saying the contract is worse but not saying why it is worse. Thats when you can tell, any details Finkel gets hold of hes happy to pass on so if the contract was worse he would say whats worse about it.
He dropped the ball big time. Finkel and Wilder were very quick to catch him out there and they caught him out really well. Both Hearn and Joshua are really wishing he hadnt said that because its really been used against them like a sledge hammer. Im sure Joshua meant it at the time, he didnt say as long as the rest of the contract isnt ridiculous but we should take that as standard, and im sure Hearn and McKracken have now beat it into Joshua just how important home advantage is and how risky it seems to be fighting a home fighter in America. But then Finkel and Haymon are just as rightfully saying the exact same thing. Home advantage is massive to both sides.
That is a very sensible comment, I agree with everything you said there. Tbh I don’t care about the fight anymore, when both parties are serious they will make it, I won’t be buying Aj vs Povetkin coz i think it will be a crap fight. Wilder vs Fury is in the US so BT will pick it up not sure if I will buy it but most likely will coz of the names in involved.
Joshua went back on the 50 mill deal because he wanted it in the UK and what was offered would of been on BT which would of violated his SKY contract. Both of them have their reasons for back tracking but fact is both did. Neither of them came out of this negotiation without criticism.
Well how the hell was he supposed to get 50 mil plus decide where the fight goes, it don’t work like that. If someone wins a purse bid or if you say give me this and someone’s pays they decide where they put the fight on because they have brought the fight.
