At the literal very first sign of being hurt some British refs find it acceptable to stop a fight.

This isn't amateur boxing, boys.

 

Seems to happen a lot on matchroom shows.

 

Wow. British stoppage but well done Fitzgerald. Best case I could make for him on the cards before that would have been a draw. Morris should have taken a knee but he looked surprised as much as hurt. Good fight that aside..

 

That was ridiculous. The ref hasn’t implemented the rules. He didn’t even start the count! He could have clung on to the end there had he been given the chance.

 

The ref saved himself from having to call a close fight.

 

I didn't know if there were any nationalistic trolls too proud to admit they have a reffing problem, lol

 

They run a "tight ship" if you know what I mean. All in house.

 

Even with the knockdown if Morris was given a chance to see the final bell I had him winning on points.

 

Anna Wollhouse just said Morris was 2 points up going into the last round

With the knockdowns Fowler probably would have won anyway tbh

 

These commentators will probably get fired for disagreeing with the stoppage.

 

The ref just stopping it like that after Morris was very much in this fight (probably should have been winning) really ticked me off for a hot second.

It's not the stoppage I have a massive issue with - he was badly shook up - it's the fact the ref didn't use the eight count to be double sure of his decision. In the last round too... FFS.

 

My issue was I had Morris clearly winning (imo) and there was less than a minute left, give the man a ****ing count and a chance. He earned it.
