Kownacki is a very likable fat guy whereas Big Josh is regarded as a dull bodybuilder with a fake personality.

But he won his first title in that fight, Martin made it really close against Kownacki.

Martin gets praise from me because Kownacki got overrated and many people had him in their top 10 which is insane, Martin would have won that fight if he would have been more active in the first half of the fight, he showed that he is better than Kownacki.

Kownacki ain't getting any praise from me.

I didn't see Martin as better, he managed to make it close but if anything they are at close to a equal level right now.

Imo Martin was a bit better, he showed good work to the body on the inside and utilized his jab unlike Kownacki who has no jab at all, Kownacki only won the first half of the fight because Martin didn't do anything.

I thought Martin did enough work in a few of the very close early rounds that he got zero credit for on the RBR, to eke out a draw on my card. It does me absolutely no good to hype up Martin, since I don't like AJ, but I call it like I see it, and don't care about the propaganda. Martin is the better fighter of the two, sadly it took him about 5 rounds for that to click with him, he went in probably assuming he'd get KTFO, and then he remembered that he was the more skilled of the two, but sadly, it was too little too late. Dammit I wish that was a 12 rounder.

Kownacki is every bit as average as I said he was, he's got a will of iron, and a damn good chin, but he gets knocked out brutally against the first truly vicious puncher he shares the ring with. That being said, it was a fun fight, both men showed grit and determination, so skill wise they both came out of it looking bad, but heart wise, they were both shining stars last night.

Agree with most of this, but losing a fight because you didn't do anything for the first 5 rounds doesn't make you better imo, it makes you not incredibly bright. Like non-existent fight IQ.

Martin is not the most confident fighter, he was insecure in the first rounds, i thought he wanted to quit but he caught himself in the later rounds and started to fight, that's when he showed enough for me to consider him the
    better fighter.

Because of Polish supremacy in America. Express your outrage on Twitter. Your hero AJ needs some millet and vitamin A enriched vegetable oil ASAP.

Here's another reason: the entire Joshua-Martin situation stunk out planet Earth.

Joshua beat this fool to win a world title and was then seen as the second coming ... and this only happened because Fury beat all time great and greatest punching technician ever seen, Vlad Klitschko, got little fanfare if any for it when he returned to thought-crime state UK, then got stripped almost immediately even though he was bound to a rematch clause, just because Kovalev's matriarch pulled some strings, probably with collusion from hustler Hearn. Martin was gifted this stolen belt when Glaskov slipped on a banana in the ring. A few people viewed this entire situation as absurdly corrupt and false. And they rightly gave Joshua no credit for his championship status. On a side note, Fury was a tool for congratulating Martin and should have got in the ring and whipped both Glaskov and Martin to death with the belt then kicked Duva in the testicles. The reason Duva gets to live is because she knows what a scumbag Ward is.

Wladimir too. Now that he is retired he is suddenly supposed to beat AJ and Fury, even he lost against both of them.

Because Kownacki is held to a lower standard than Joshua?

Anytime a champion or challenger wins easy hes immediately giving less credit bc the opponent must be a hype job.....so is the case of the boxing fanbase mindset of dum dums. lol

Going back to many PPLS top 10 list where they had Kownacki but discredit Martin show where ppl don't know what theyre talking about as neither guy is top 10 status. Some jokers were even telling me Whyte doesn't belong in top ten months ago..where are you guys now? Ha

In Martins case you actually probably have a guy who could have won this fight with actual better ring strategies ( what these guys trained for is beyond me ? ) Martin fought Kownackis fight the entire time and still almost pulled off a 10th round win maybe with a another minute left ?

Martin IF he actually trains smart and puts everything together could produce more exciting matches ,I don't think he will reach top 10 beyond this point though with the current NEW guys coming in who are better and stronger fighters around the corner....
