Tua vs Povetkin is 50/50 Lose Decision to Mercer KO Bruno KO Ruddock Decision Old Holmes Not sure how he would do vs Ibeabuchi KO morrison after a few scares early on Holyfield decisions povetkin Lewis stops Povetkin
Horrible post. Wrong. Bowe doesn´t have a single stoppage loss and gets rated for 2 golota-fights representing his whole career. Bull****. Povetkin is not gonna beat Bowe. What does Wlads power have to do with anything? Lewis and Tyson maybe could brakefeast Wlad in 2 rounds. Povetkin didn´t have that hands, nor was he super-durable. This is about a cautios Wlad who managed to hurt Povetkin without much trouble, like Chagaev did as well. On what level are you? If Lewis got KO´d two times, Povetkin would as well? Like Povetkin is a 6'4" boxer mover with a jab? Povetkin is NOT a much better fighter than Morrison, this is BULL****. Povetkin getting half the odds against Lewis, Holyfield, Ruddock-Tyson and Bowe is BULL**** as well. Like 90% of the posters stated here, Povetkin is able to compete "with the likes of Ruddock, McCall, [old] Holmes, Morrison, Tua, Ibeabuchi, Golota, Bruno, Mercer, etc." but not with the tier 1 players.
Pov in on the level of Huck. He can do what Huck did. ie would get beat by or perhaps match midlevel contenders like Cunningham, but be able to handle fringe ones easily enough. Like Huck who can win one lesser title (diluted division/diluted title), he would win with his best efforts an IBO-type HW title in the 90s. Perhaps he could keep it for a while, I might have been wrong earlier since the IBO type titles attract weakling contenders, by and large. He would never be a threat to the actual world titles, getting beat on the way up into contention.
In the 90 s ?.He wouldn't do bad but he'd lose to the very top guys. Lewis beat's him by KO. Holy field outpoint s him. A early decade Tyson stops him. A mid decade Tyson I reckon it's fifty /fifty.Bowe would find him trouble but eventually gets him. Old George ,always dangerous but could find himself out pointed. Morrison' Hurt's him early but gets stopped late .Mercer finds him self at the end of a decision loss .Moorer and Pov split two fight s ,each getting a decision win. Bruno ,Hurt's him in the first couple of rounds but tire's down the line and gets stopped on his feet. Hide run's out of bullets and finds him self KO'd . That's me prediction s for him anyway ..
Pov, wlads best win, would be unlikely to landa title shot in the 90s, but might perhaps his best chance being if to cover for an injured contender pulling out at last minute notice. He would in that event be the 90s champions worst win, or one of them.
whats cmedy about a lower tier titlist of today, winning a lower tier title in the 90s. Its exactly accurate isnt it? Carbon copy. So why are you claiming that the reality of what Pov can do is a comedy? let me know why.
I’d expect him to do better than Mercer and Morrison. Povetkin doesn’t screw up like they did. He’s also been basically top five for a decade. They were very spotty and short lived in terms of being ranked.
For the record, how many of Povetkin's opponents were ranked in the Ring top 10 when he fought them? EDIT: As far as annual ratings go, only Chagaev (#8 in 2011) and Klitschko (champion in 2013) were ranked in the Ring's retrospective top 10 lists for the year Povetkin fought them. This might suggest he has a shallow resume, or, alternatively, that he stopped the careers of a lot of up-and-comers before they had a chance to consolidate their rankings in an annual -- rather than monthly -- list.
Chambers was highly ranked. Most fighters in the 90s did not actually beat many ranked fighters during that time outside of Holyfield and Lewis, and to a lesser extent Tyson and Bowe.
Yeah. I just realized that Chambers started getting ranked the year after Povetkin beat him. And yes, fighters tend to avoid each other a lot more these days, unfortunately.
Looks like you’re right about Chambers, but he did deserve a spot at a time having beaten Guinn and Brock. He was alphabet ranked.
