Roach is a far better trainer than Joe Goosen and also better than Corbett`s trainer, though I think he trained himself.

One embarrassing clip at a time. First, let's break down the one where Corbett looks like an extra from a bad kung fu flick. Not this stupid argument again. Did you even watch the Roach video?
That's an impressive uppercut from Corbett. It's not an inside uppercut like Roach is showing. Corbett obviously threw those too. His punch is not thrown at full speed or power in this clip, but it really shows impressive form for a long range uppercut.
It looked like that uppercut was an intercepting type of punch used when the other guy swung wide as it either landed or blocked the punch. You would need quick reflexes and speed to pull that off the way Corbett is showing it.
Interesting that Corbett at 6'1" was slightly bigger than Tunney, but Tunney's 76" reach was 3" longer than Corbett's.
Corbett's uppercut in the exhibition footage and the tired Kownacki's 10th round uppercut both look pretty unimpressive to me. Corbett's infighting uppercut was fine for what it was. Would’ve been more impressed by his technique if he’d lowered his level before throwing the punch. But presumably he realized that Fitzsimmons was leaning on him and harmless, so he was able to drop his arm like that instead without risking much.
"Impressive form for a long range uppercut"? I honestly didn't see anything impressive about the form--what am I missing? Did you also find the body blow that he threw right before the uppercut sequence (starting around :34) impressive?
Mr Fancy Pants Corbett did exactly what Roach said NOT to do. He raised himself up with the punch, leaving himself wide upen for a counter. His chin was way up in the air. Reminded me of Buster Douglas' illfated uppercut vs Holyfield and we know how th at turned out.
Well spotted. I understand why you guys need to divert attention away from Corbett’s embarrassing display by hassling Tyson Fury. Did Tyson Fury ever say that fighters should punch themselves in the face? Of course not. Fury made a mistake, but got better. Corbett proudly showcased his technical ineptitude in an instructional film.
Actually, I think both Corbett and Fury are awful. Not a fan of late 19th century/early 20th boxing or most modern boxing.
