There's a good chance we end up getting a Manny/Floyd five year build for this fight where they talk it up but it doesn't get made. Different promoters who don't do much business, both on different Networks who have signed huge deals and won't be so willing to give one up to the other. Usual boxing politics. Anyway, let's say they can't make the fight for a good chunk as many of us expect. Looking at each fighters promotional situation then the most likely courses for these fights could work out something like: Joshua: Alexander Povetkin (In a fortnight) - WBA Mandatory Dillian Whyte II (or Derek Chisora) - stablemate and possible WBO mandatory Jermell Miller - stablemate Kubrat Pulev or Hughie Fury - IBF mandatory Oleksandr Usyk - stablemate Wilder: Tyson Fury (Allegedly made) Dominic Breazeale - stablemate and WBC mandatory Adam Kownacki - stablemate Luis Ortiz II - stablemate, next biggest sellable fight after Joshua/Fury Joe Joyce - just signed to Haymon, may be fast tracked Obviously things can change and a loss would completely open the division up but on the premise they keep winning I think that's the course to run for each boxer. Thoughts?
Haymon has already got Joyce facing worse opposition than he was before he signed with him. No point talking about Joyce until he walks out of what ever contract Haymon has lied to him about. Joshua will keep fighting the best names in the division and Wilder will keep fighting ill and old people.
How did you work that out. Kiladze has fought at a fair bit higher level.than anyone else Joyce has faced, unless your talking WSB but thats usually the case for everyone coming over from that.
Joshua: Povetkin Whyte Miller Winner of Fury/Pulev Usyk Wilder: Breazeale Adamek Stiverne 3 Molina 2 Breazeale 2
I like the Joshua vs Povektin fight. I would also like to see Wilder vs Fury but only if Fury has beaten some legit opponent before Anyway Wilder vs Fury or Wilder vs Joshua has to happen during the next 15 month
Course Wilder v AJ will happen, just not this year as most of us predicted anyway. Such a huge fight it will happen next year,Wilder needs the money and AJ needs that green belt.
Yeah, they better sort it out soon. A lot of solid HW contenders on the horizon now. It's a bird in the hand scenario now ...
Joshua has to get past Povetkin first but I think he will. I saw a chance to win VIP Joshua tickets if anyone still needs a ticket. I can see Povetkin being a tough one for AJ but I'm predicting a 6th round KO and punching power making the difference. I haven't seen many of Wilder's fights but he'll have to be in top condition and box very smart to end AJ's unbeaten record.
Who? I don't really see anyone coming through who would worry either one much. If joshua bears povetkin then him and Ortiz who are the two best are gone. I don't really see Usyk being a huge issue for them and the likes of joyce and hrgovic don't convince me
Wilder is angling for the McDonalds belt, then plaining a title unification unification with the fearsome champion from Burger king. Will Wilder ever fight a top 5 contender who is in his prime?
Wilder's next 7 opponents 1. Wilder/Brazeale 2. Wilder/Stiverne 3 3. Wilder vs Kevin Johnson 4. Wilder vs Amir Mansour 5. Wilder vs Dustin Nichols 2 6. Wilder vs Harold Sconiers 3 7. Wilder vs Tomas Adamek
