Out of curiosity, do you have the exact numbers for world champions is Europe and the Americas? With that said, Golovkin has faces plenty of stiff opposition. Likely why he's one dimensional.
2:08 Canelo tries to make a Camera man lose his job by dropping a 20,000 dollar camera. How can anyone like this monster?
1 - Start faster, he gave up too many early rounds not doing enough, soon as the first bell rings he has to bring the intensity from the first second of the fight. 2 - Jabbing to the body, hooks he couldn't land and he was scared of being countered when going downstairs and rightly so, so the jab to the body might be the answer. Canelo fights pretty squared up when not defensive so should be open to the jab downstairs. 3 - Smother the counter. If GGG is fearful of counters, when he is able to get off first, step inside and clinch preventing Canelo from countering. This will also break Canelo's rhythm and help wear him down if GGG manhandles him on the inside. No more standing in range to be hit after throwing, clinching might be an ugly way to win but a win is a win. 4 - Pick your battle ground. In the first fight he too often tried trading in the centre of the ring. Forget that, Canelo in the centre had too much room to out maneuver GGG. When in the centre Golovkin should only be doing 2 things, feinting/jabbing to push Canelo back to the ropes and clinching to prevent being countered. Exchanging in the centre won't work, he'll just get beaten to the punch or countered and then when he punches back Canelo will be gone. Open up only when he has Canelo on the ropes or in the corners. This will limit Canelo's opportunities to counter and ensure more exchanges happen in scenario's where Golovkin can hit back.
In time Nobody will remember any middleweights you’ve mentioned. - Lemiuex has no jab to speak of, only knows how to come forward and has to embarrassing KO losses to average opposition . - Murray’s claim to fame is taking a clearly faded Martinez to the brink. He’s a featherfisted punch bag who was cutting too much weight to stay at 160 - Jacobs is clearly Golovkins best win and most skilled boxer he faced to that point. Jacobs has , power speed, combination punching , good footwork, etc. - Brook? Vanes???Lol ...who are they at 160? Come on man... From where are you getting “euro bums” as I don’t see where I’ve made such a statement
It has more to do with Canelo "making adjustments" as most people thought Golovkin won the first go around. Also it has to do with Golovkin "not slipping with age" as it is one year later and he is getting older... I think they make for a close showdown every time. I'm picking Canelo.
Many middleweights have fought fighters coming up in weight, not unheard of. Also you can literally dissect any fighters resume, so don’t give me any of that. Golovkin has beaten Canelo, Jacobs, Murray, Geale, Lemieux, Brooks, Vanes I would say this is a good run. He has never ducked an opponent in the top 10, ever.
Golovkin must use his size & strength to muscle Canelo into position to land his heavy artillery. He has to throw in combination as Canelo is too quick to avoid single shots and throwing in volume wont allow Canelo to set his feet to allow his own effective countering.
No he has not. He never fought the majority of the guys who were ranked in the top 5 throughout his years with a belt. He has literally only faced 4 opponents who were at the time ranked in the top 5 and look at the scorecards for the only two elites he has faced. Most of his opponents weren't top 10 during his title reign... It's still a great run Golovkin's on from a longevity and statistical point of view, and most people thought he won the first fight with Canelo, there's not a need to get so defensive.
It is not about ducking them. Nobody really thinks that happened. In the end it's about who he fought, same as any other fighter. Golovkin's resume is no Wonjongkam yet.
Well, he definitely should look into a rematch with Jacobs if he beats Derev, that would become a necessary for his legacy at that point. Jacobs deserved a rematch off the first fight. Saunders is a pretty big win waiting to be had. Murata would also be one of his best wins at this point so I would add him to it.
I expect he doesn't really have to change much, because I expect he's facing a weaker version of Alvarez in the first place. And it seems one without a personal judge also.
